  • Patent number: 10694906
Abstract: A hand dryer comprising an elongate air-knife discharge outlet for discharging an air-knife across the width of a user's hand held flat in front of the outlet, thereby mechanically to scrape water from the hand as the hand is moved lengthwise relative to the air-knife. The elongate air-knife discharge outlet comprises a straight section for facing the palm or back of the user's hand and a curved, wrap-around end section for extending at least part way around one of the sides of the user's hands. The geometry of the air-knife discharge outlet creates a flow profile which targets the side of the hand with a relatively high-velocity jet of air effective in particular for drying the area around the thumb of a user.

  • Patent number: 9283573
Abstract: A nozzle for a fan assembly includes an air inlet, a plurality of air outlets, and an annular casing having an annular inner wall defining a bore through which air from outside the nozzle is drawn by air emitted from the air outlets and an outer wall extending about the inner wall. The annular casing includes an air passage for conveying air to the air outlets. The air passage has an inlet section located between the inner wall and the outer wall and extending about the bore of the nozzle, and a plurality of outlet sections each extending across the bore for conveying air to a respective air outlet. To achieve an even air pressure at each end of each of the outlet sections, the inlet section of the air passage is arranged to convey air to each end of each of the outlet sections.

  • Fan
    Patent number: 9249810
Abstract: A bladeless fan assembly includes a nozzle mounted on a base housing a device creating an air flow through the nozzle. The nozzle includes an interior passage receiving the air flow from the base and a mouth through which the air flow is emitted. The nozzle extends substantially orthogonally about an axis to define an opening through which air from outside the fan assembly is drawn by the air flow emitted from the mouth. The depth of the base in the direction of the axis may be no more than twice the depth of the nozzle. The assembly produces an air current without requiring a bladed fan, that is, the air flow is created by a bladeless fan.

  • Fan
    Patent number: 8882451
Abstract: A portable fan includes a casing having an air inlet and a first connector, and an air outlet having a second connector. A filter unit includes a third connector, which is substantially the same as the second connector, for co-operating with the first connector to removably connect the filter unit to the casing, a filter which is located upstream from the air inlet when the filter unit is connected to the casing, and a fourth connector, which is substantially the same as the first connector, for co-operating with the second connector to removably connect the air outlet to the filter unit. This can allow the air outlet to be connected either directly to the casing, or to an optional filter unit which is connected to the casing.
