  • Patent number: 11449052
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided herein for utilizing controller device within a workspace. The controller device may operate in a first state to monitor a light curtain associated with an interaction area of the workspace and to cause an indication of the first state to be presented at an indicator device associated with the interaction area. While operating in the first state, the controller device may detect a breach of the light curtain. The controller device may perform at least one remedial action based at least in part on detecting the breach of the light curtain while operating in the first state.

  • Patent number: 10328836
Abstract: An inventory system includes an inventory holder and an actively balanced mobile drive unit. A control module of the mobile drive unit can receive sensing information about the inventory holder and/or the mobile drive unit and use the sensing information to control a drive module of the mobile drive unit so as to maintain the inventory holder and/or the mobile drive unit within a predetermined deviation amount from an equilibrium state.

  • Patent number: 10162401
Abstract: Approaches and related devices monitor the condition of a battery via voltage measurement during routine recharging instances. An approach includes supplying a charging current to the battery during each of a plurality of routine charging instances. The charging current is increased by a measured or predetermined amount during a current pulse portion of each of the routine charging instances. A resulting change in a battery voltage of the battery during the current pulse portion of each of the routine charging instances is measured. An impedance-indicative value of the battery is determined for each of the routine charging instances based on the change in the battery voltage during the current pulse portion. The impedance-indicative value is stored in a memory device for each of the routine charging instances. A condition of the battery is estimated based on one or more changes in the impedance-indicative values.

  • Patent number: 9748882
Abstract: A motor controller configured to control different types of electronically commutated motors (ECMs) includes a range of different rotor orientation signal inputs to accommodate differences between ECM motor types. The motor controller includes a control unit that receives motor operation commands and controls operation of the ECM in accordance with the motor operation commands. The control unit receives and stores data designating ECM type and estimates rotor position based on the designated ECM type.
