  • Patent number: 8901292
Abstract: A method of mass production of tetrakis(p-nitrophenyl)porphyrins, by which successful isolation of the barely soluble product from meso-aryl nitration of tetraphenylporphyrin toward a remarkable yield of nearly 90% has been realized by means of a solid phase extraction technique. This is a simpler and more straight forward synthetic method, suitable production at an industrial scale with lower cost, shorter synthetic time and lower solvent consumption.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 20, 2012
Date of Patent: December 2, 2014
Assignee: The Hong Kong Polytechnic Univeristy
Inventors: Kevin Ka Leung Cheuk, John Haozhong Xin, Priscilla Pui Sze Lee, Zhi Xue
