  • Publication number: 20240150494
Abstract: This disclosure is based, at least in part, on an unexpected discovery that the novel nanobodies and variants thereof are able to specifically bind afucosylated or sialylated IgG Fc glycoforms. Glycosylation of the IgG Fc domain is a major determinant of the strength and specificity of antibody effector functions, modulating the binding interactions of the Fc with the diverse family of Fc? receptors. These Fc glycan modifications, such as removal of the core fucose residue, are newfound clinical markers for predicting severity of diseases, such as diseases caused by dengue virus (DENV) or SARS-CoV-2. However, it remains challenging to accurately distinguish specific IgG glycoforms without costly and time-intensive methods. The novel glycol-specific nanobodies and variants thereof, as disclosed herein, can be used as rapid clinical diagnostics or prognostics to risk stratify patients with viral and inflammatory diseases.

  • Patent number: 11973772
Abstract: Conventional email filtering services are not suitable for recognizing sophisticated malicious emails, and therefore may allow sophisticated malicious emails to reach inboxes by mistake. Introduced here are threat detection platforms designed to take an integrative approach to detecting security threats. For example, after receiving input indicative of an approval from an individual to access past email received by employees of an enterprise, a threat detection platform can download past emails to build a machine learning (ML) model that understands the norms of communication with internal contacts (e.g., other employees) and/or external contacts (e.g., vendors). By applying the ML model to incoming email, the threat detection platform can identify security threats in real time in a targeted manner.

  • Patent number: 11651333
Abstract: Techniques for enhancing usability and electronic resource efficiency using job relevance are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, a list of a predetermined number of top job openings for a member of the social networking system is generated. The list is communicated to a device of the user for presentation in a user interface on the device. The user interface allows the member to browse through and provide an indication of a lack of relevancy of each of the list of the predetermined number of top job openings to the member and an indication of a reason for the lack of relevancy. Based on the user providing the indication of the lack of relevancy and the reason, a modified relevancy assessment of each of the plurality of job openings is generated. The list of the predetermined number of top job openings for the member is regenerated and communicated to the device.

  • Patent number: 11068800
Abstract: The disclosed embodiments provide a system for processing data. During operation, the system obtains events reflecting responses by a user to job recommendations outputted to the user. Next, the system updates a set of features for the user from the events. The system then includes the updated set of features in a feature repository for use by a statistical model in generating a ranking of jobs for the user. Finally, the system retrains the statistical model using the events prior to using the statistical model to update the outputted job recommendations using the ranking.

  • Patent number: 10789312
Abstract: This disclosure relates to systems and methods for recommending relevant positions. A method includes receiving, from a member of an online networking service, a query for one or more available employment positions; executing the query, at a database of employment positions, to retrieve the one or more available employment positions; filtering results of the query according to one or more facets; generating an electronic user interface to display the filtered results; and allowing the member to adjust the facets using the electronic user interface.

  • Patent number: 10552465
Abstract: In an example embodiment, a method for selecting text snippets to display on a computer display is provided. A universal concept graph for phrases relevant to a search domain is created, the universal concept graph representing each phrase as a node and relationships between the phrases as edges between the nodes. A result in the search domain is represented as a subgraph of the universal concept graph by extracting a portion of the universal concept graph containing phrases contained in the result. Then, a score is produced for each node of the subgraph, the score based on a graph analysis algorithm applied to the subgraph. Then text snippets to display for the result are selected to be displayed based on the scores produced in the subgraph for phrases contained in the text snippets.

  • Publication number: 20190095531
Abstract: In an example embodiment, a search query is received via a user interface. A member identification, in a social networking service, is then obtained for a member who generated the search query. The member identification is forwarded to a faceting service, the faceting service designed to return a list of top N organization identifications corresponding to organizations having a plurality of employees who share an attribute in common with the member. The list of top N organization identifications is received from the faceting service. The search query is augmented with the list of top N organization identifications, and the augmented search query is sent to a search platform to obtain a first set of search results corresponding to the top N organization identifications. At least a portion of the first set of search results are then displayed in the user interface.

  • Publication number: 20170300563
Abstract: In an example embodiment, a plurality of labeled training documents is obtained, each labeled training document containing a plurality of text snippets. Then, a first set of features is extracted from each text snippet in each of the plurality of labeled training documents. The extracted first set of features and the plurality of labeled training documents are passed to a supervised machine learning algorithm to train a potential snippet relevance score model. A second set of features is extracted from each of a plurality of candidate text snippets in a candidate document. Then, a relevancy score is calculated for each of the plurality of candidate text snippets using the potential snippet relevance score model. Then, one of the plurality of candidate text snippets is selected to display based on the calculated relevancy scores.

  • Publication number: 20100283270
Abstract: A magnetic latch may include a first magnet assembly and a second magnet assembly. The first magnet assembly may have a plurality of first magnets, the first magnet assembly movable about a substantially linear axis between a first position and a second position. The second magnet assembly may have a plurality of second magnets. In the first position, the plurality of first magnets and the plurality of second magnets may be configured such that the first magnet assembly is magnetically attracted to the second magnet assembly when the first magnet assembly is substantially proximate to the second magnet assembly. In the second position, the plurality of first magnets and the plurality of second magnets may be configured such that the first magnet assembly is magnetically repelled from the second magnet assembly when the first magnet assembly is substantially proximate to the second magnet assembly.
