  • Patent number: 11904133
Abstract: An LVP that provides peristaltic pumping to removably couplable administration set tubing assemblies supplying medical infusate. The LVP includes a housing, a drive-train assembly, and a controller. The housing includes an assembly receptacle configured to receive an administration set tubing assembly. The drive-train assembly provides mechanical peristaltic movement within the assembly receptacle. The drive-train assembly includes a stepper motor located within the housing and a camshaft assembly, driven by the stepper motor and at least partially extending into the assembly receptacle. The camshaft assembly includes a unitary camshaft and a plurality of tube engaging members that cooperatively move according to rotation of the unitary camshaft. Further, the controller is located within the housing that controls operation of the stepper motor and the camshaft assembly.

  • Publication number: 20240033426
Abstract: A system for occlusion detection, including a cartridge containing an infusate, a plunger driven by a drive mechanism configured to be advanced within the cartridge to expel infusate from the cartridge, a force sensor configured to sense an actual force exerted by the plunger, and a control unit configured to determine an estimated force based on an expected decay in frictional force between the plunger and the cartridge for comparison to the actual force sensed by the force sensor, wherein a deviation between the estimated force and the actual force exceeding a threshold triggers an occlusion alarm.

  • Publication number: 20240009387
Abstract: An infusion pump, including a housing, a user interface, a motor and a set of drive components, and a controller. The housing enables selective stacked attachment with other infusion pumps. The housing includes a top portion with a handle integrated into an outer surface that partially defines a generally U-shaped retaining feature. The housing also includes a bottom portion with a generally U-shaped projection that is contoured to selectively mate with the retaining feature of another infusion pump. The user interface provides a front side to the housing that receives commands regarding infusion pump operation. The motor and set of drive components are at least partially located within the housing and mechanically direct infusion of infusate. The controller is located within the housing and that controls operation of the motor and the set of drive components.

  • Publication number: 20230104401
Abstract: An infusion pump can be configured to modulate a drive motor based on perceived infusion pressure requirements for quieter, more energy-efficient operation of the drive motor. The infusion pump can include an electrical motor having a variable output torque based on the electrical current input, a plunger head sensor configured to detect a force between a plunger driver and a plunger of a medicament container, and a control module configured to regulate the electrical current input to the electrical motor based on the detected force between the plunger driver and the plunger medicament container. The electrical current input for such an infusion pump can be incrementally reduced according to defined magnitudes of detected force.

  • Patent number: 11497579
Abstract: A pole clamp assembly is configured to facilitate removable coupling of one or more medical devices to a support structure. The pole clamp assembly includes a pole clamp that is configured to selectively grip the supporting structure. The pole clamp includes a fastener hub and a locking mechanism. A docking member is configured to operably couple a medical device of the one or more medical devices to the pole clamp. The docking member includes structure defining a fastener hub aperture and one or more recesses into which a portion of the locking mechanism can selectively reside. The locking mechanism is shiftable between a non-engaged position in which the docking member is rotatable relative to the pole clamp, and an engaged position in which rotation of the docking member relative to the pole clamp is inhibited.
