  • Patent number: 10569882
Abstract: A multiple seat set for use in a transport vehicle such as an aircraft is disclosed. The seat set increases seating room and comfort for passengers without increasing the footprint of the seat set. The seat set includes a staggered seating arrangement where seating surfaces of adjacent seats are disposed in alternating heights (e.g., vertical heights) while the seating surfaces and seat backs of such adjacent seats are disposed in alternating forward and back positions. The staggering of the seat surfaces and seat backs results in misalignment of shoulders and hips of passengers in adjacent seats.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 1, 2018
Date of Patent: February 25, 2020
    Assignee: Molon Labe, LLC
Inventors: Frank Matthew Scott, Kevin Lee Van Liere

  • Publication number: 20180111691
Abstract: A locking device for a deployable tray table disposed on a rearward surface of a passenger seatback is disclosed. The locking device may be incorporated into a hinge or knuckle of the tray table such that the tray table may be retained in a stowed configuration without a latch mechanism disposed along a top edge of the stowed tray table. In some embodiments, a support arm of the tray table may terminate with a plurality of narrow fingers, each having an elongated slot configured to receive an axel pin disposed within the knuckle.
