  • Patent number: 10391473
Abstract: The invention is directed to a polymer-protected sorbent that is at least partially covered by, or in contact with, a polymer that acts to protect or shield the sorbent from the surrounding environment, such as a liquid or gas stream within which the sorbent is being used. The sorbent is a sorbent material made of sorbent particles and can be used to remove certain chemical species, such as trace level toxic species, from a given liquid or gas, such as a liquid or gas stream in an industrial process, such as wet flue gas desulfurization process or a wastewater treatment process.

  • Patent number: 9550501
Abstract: A vehicle system comprises an interface assembly and a controller both on board a first rail vehicle. The interface assembly comprises one or more mechanical couplers, fuel couplers, fluid couplers, and electrical connectors, to detachably couple the first rail vehicle to a separate, adjacent fuel tender vehicle, for the transfer of one or more of fuel (e.g., compressed natural gas) from the fuel tender vehicle to the first rail vehicle, heated fluid from the first rail vehicle to the fuel tender vehicle (e.g., for regasification of liquid natural gas stored in the fuel tender vehicle to the compressed natural gas), or electrical power and/or control signals between the first rail vehicle and the fuel tender vehicle. The controller is configured to at least partially control operations of the first rail vehicle in relation to interfacing with the fuel tender vehicle for fuel transfer, heated fluid transfer, etc.

  • Patent number: 9201897
Abstract: A device establishes access to a first set of storage devices associated with a first storage characteristic and a second set of storage devices associated with a second storage characteristic. The first storage characteristic and the second storage characteristic include at least one of a consistency characteristic or a latency characteristic. The device receives a first request to store content, and determines a storage rule associated with the content, based on the first storage characteristic and the second storage characteristic. The storage rule specifies a manner in which the content is to be stored. The device transmits first information, associated with the content, to a first storage device of the first set of storage devices, based on the storage rule. The device transmits second information, including the content, to a second storage device of the second set of storage devices, based on the storage rule.

  • Patent number: 7608230
Abstract: A sample conditioning system removes selenium from a flue gas sample to provide more accurate measure of mercury in the gas stream. Ammonia or another basic reagent is added to the sampled gas stream to increase the pH of the condensate, and thereby ensuring the removal of hydrogen selenide.

  • Publication number: 20020089204
Abstract: A vehicle body has a reconfigurable back panel and window system for use in an extended cab pickup truck or other similar vehicle in which the rear wall of the vehicle is adaptable for use in various optional configurations. A forward convertible compartment communicates with a rear cargo compartment through an access opening in a body frame. A lower closure panel, intermediate crossbar and upper window optionally close the opening to separate the compartments for passenger and cargo use. The window may be removed and stored in the panel, the panel may be pivoted open and the crossbar may be moved with the panel or remain to support the window, all permitting varying degrees of communication between the compartments for carrying passengers or cargo as desired.

  • Patent number: 6186575
Abstract: A re-configurable cargo cover for a bed of a vehicle includes a door adapted to be disposed in a door opening of a vehicle body. The re-configurable cargo cover includes a plurality of individual panels operatively cooperating with each other and a bed of a vehicle. The re-configurable cargo cover includes a pair of interior sides operatively connected to sides of the bed of the vehicle. The re-configurable cargo cover further includes the panels and the sides having features cooperating with each other to re-configure the panels into a plurality of different configurations for a cargo area of the bed of the vehicle.
