    Abstract: A heavy duty shear attachable to the boom of a mobile machine, such as a backhoe, comprises a support structure of welded steel plate construction, and a shear head of steel plate construction mounted on the support structure and having pivotally interconnected upper and lower jaw members. The upper and lower jaw members carry removable shearing blade inserts which are dimensionally identical, and the jaw members are pivotally interconnected by a joint assembly which facilitates disassembly thereof for maintenance purposes.
