  • Publication number: 20230115793
Abstract: System for managing a patient's glucose level including a glucose sensor to generate raw data signals for measurements of the patient's glucose level. The system further includes sensor electronics operatively coupled to the glucose sensor. The sensor electronics have a memory storing one or more predetermined characteristics associated with the sensor electronics. The sensor electronics are in electronic communication with the glucose sensor. The system further includes a receiving device and external devices, wherein the external devices include a first disposable device and a second disposable device. Each external device is configured for wireless communication with both the receiving device and the sensor electronics. The system enables the transfer of sensor context information from the first disposable device to the second disposable device.

  • Publication number: 20220070666
Abstract: In one embodiment, a method for secured communication between a medical sensor and a computing device includes receiving, by the medical sensor, an authentication request from the computing device. The method includes generating, based on values provided in the authentication request, a challenge-response message for the computing device. The method includes receiving, from the computing device, a responsive challenge-response message. The method includes verifying that the responsive challenge-response message includes an expected value and corresponds to an expected format. The method includes, in response to verifying the responsive challenge-response message, sending a sensor secret value to the computing device.

  • Publication number: 20150264517
Abstract: A portable glucose monitor having only a test strip reader and wireless transmission to a remote hand held calculation processor in which all glucose data processing occurs. In an embodiment, the portable glucose monitor includes a button for use in wirelessly pairing the monitor to a smart phone for data communication with a non-proprietary communication protocol, and a light source to communicate the progress of the pairing. In a further embodiment, the glucose monitor includes a switch coupled to the strip reader such that power is applied to the monitor when a test strip is inserted and power is removed with the withdrawal of the test strip. In another embodiment, inserting the test strip and activating the switch also places the glucose monitor into the pairing search mode to communication with a host remote processor.

  • Patent number: 5727047
Abstract: An arrangement provides an interface between a telephone device and a personal computer in such a manner that enhanced capability for both the telephone device and the computer in processing information in an analog telephone environment is provided. The telephone device attaches to an analog telephone line and advantageously operates either as a stand-alone device when the computer is powered-off or in tandem with the computer when the computer is powered-on. A user is able to access any of the available telephony features from the telephone device at all times and from the computer when it is powered-on. Such available telephony features include, by way of example, Caller ID for decoding available information presented on the analog telephone line and an integrated telephone answering system, which provides for reception, transmission, and storage of voice, facsimile, and electronic mail messages.
