Abstract: A computer-implemented method is provided for defining criteria for use in defaulting data in a transaction for an ERP system. The computer-implemented method includes providing a plurality of data entities that are available for defaulting in the ERP system. The computer-implemented method also includes selecting a select number of data entities from the plurality of data entities based on a user input. The select number of data entities are available as criteria for defaulting data in transactions.

Abstract: A system for entering multi-level default data in defaultable fields of a new-data-entry entity based on data entered in multi-level controlling fields. A default-data entity provides selectable default data. A default-rule entity includes default rules that specify selections of the default data as a function of controlling data entered into the multilevel controlling fields. A processing unit executes the data-default rules and automatically enters default data. The system simplifies entry of transactions in a database such as a general ledger.

Abstract: A computer-based accounting system has sub-ledgers, a general ledger and centralized distributions. The sub-ledgers are adapted to record transaction information. The general ledger is adapted to record transaction information from general ledger transactions and information representative of the transaction information from each of the sub-ledgers. The centralized distributions is a repository of distribution lines corresponding to the transaction information contained in the general ledger and the sub-ledgers. The centralized distributions is adapted to associate each distribution line with an originating transaction, allowing the originating transaction to maintain control of its distribution lines.

Abstract: A method of recording financial data is provided. The method includes establishing a first balance sheet account having a balance. The first balance sheet account is associated with a second balance sheet account. The method further includes automatically transferring the balance on the first balance sheet account to the second balance sheet account at a specified time.
