    Abstract: A flosser having a body and a c-shaped head coupled to the first end of the body. The c-shaped head can include a pin. The flosser can also include a spool disposed inside a cavity at the second end of the body, wherein the spool is configured to be wound with floss. The flosser can also include a lock disposed inside the cavity between the spool and the first end of the body. The lock can be configured to move within the cavity between an open position and a closed position. The flosser can also include a floss path extending between the spool and the c-shaped head. The floss path can be configured to accommodate floss threaded through the floss path and secured to the pin. A position of the floss threaded through the floss path can be maintained when the lock is in the closed position.

Neither of these user actions interrupts any of the background processes.

    Abstract: Two solutions to the problem of cooling a high temperature, high heat flux surface using controlled spray cooling are presented for use on a mandrel. In the first embodiment, spray cooling is used to provide a varying isothermal boundary layer on the side portions of a mandrel by providing that the spray can be moved axially along the mandrel. In the second embodiment, a spray of coolant is directed to the lower temperature surface of the mandrel. By taking advantage of super-Leidenfrost cooling, the temperature of the high temperature surface of the mandrel can be controlled by varying the mass flux rate of coolant droplets. The invention has particular applicability to the field of diamond synthesis using chemical vapor deposition techniques.
