  • Patent number: 7672782
Abstract: An enhanced police Doppler direction sensing radar detects possibly dangerous traffic conditions during certain vehicle maneuvers such as U-turns and returns to travel after roadside stops. By monitoring a host or primary vehicle speed, speed transitions, transmission state (e.g. gear selection), and the closing vehicle position, range and speed, a number of selectable conditions are detected, resulting in an alert indication to a primary vehicle operator. User preferences and thresholds allow the traffic alert function to be customized according to a primary vehicle operator's desire to suppress alerts in situations which the user does not deem dangerous. The traffic alert function may be automatically triggered under certain detected conditions, or manually initiated when the primary vehicle operator intends to make a driving maneuver.

  • Publication number: 20060162910
Abstract: An apparatus providing high efficiency heat exchange between two fluids is disclosed. The apparatus most commonly comprises multiple thin panels with fluid channels directing the flow of the two fluids, specifically: one or more flat panels aligned at some angle to the flow of the fluid traveling through the shortest channel of the thin panels. The panels are arranged in series and parallel, so that the hot fluid travels through multiple thin panels. The coolant is delivered to the thin panels through tubes or manifolds while the hot fluid is delivered through a duct or other piping.

  • Patent number: 6279096
Abstract: The inventive system and method provides a processing resource which performs bit reversing and Boolean algebraic operations. These operations are commonly needed by discrete transform algorithms to reorder data samples. By selectively remapping the address bus, a series of non-linear accesses to the data memory are converted to linear accesses. Another use of the invention to pack floating point numbers in memory is also disclosed. An embodiment using an in-circuit reprogrammable logic device is disclosed which allows processing software to dynamically reconfigure the mapping logic and rules.

  • Patent number: 5167655
Abstract: A cold therapy panty is provided which includes a front portion and a back portion with a crotch area formed therebetween. A receptacle is located adjacent the crotch area of the panty and extends along the crotch area. An absorbent pad for absorbing bodily fluids and a cold pack for applying cold therapy to the crotch of the wearer are inserted into the receptacle. Alternatively, the absorbent pad may be attached to the inner side of the panty to avoid soiling the pouch and panty. Mating fasteners on the front and back portions are connected to attach the panty to the wearer.
