  • Patent number: 11554031
Abstract: The attachment plate for a prosthetic socket is fabricated into the distal end of a prosthetic socket. The attachment plate comprises a body with a peripheral seal, a valve, an air tunnel, and an exhaust port. When fastened in the distal end of a prosthetic socket, the peripheral seal creates a secure seal to the inner wall of the prosthetic socket and the exhaust port remains exposed to atmosphere. The valve is open to the cavity of the prosthetic socket for air to be removed to secure a prosthetic via vacuum or suction. Air from the cavity moves through the valve, through an air tunnel machined into the cylindrical body, and is expelled out of the exhaust port.

  • Patent number: 11109987
Abstract: The Prosthetic Vacuum Pump is a manually-operated device, that is affixed to or integral with a prosthetic socket. The manual operation allows a wearer to increase the vacuum in the socket cavity if there is any noticeable decrease at any time. The Prosthetic Vacuum Pump includes a removable pump mechanism that allows a user to customize the level of vacuum drawn by the Prosthetic Vacuum Pump. The intake valve of the Prosthetic Vacuum Pump is in direct connection with the cavity of a prosthetic socket. By eliminating vacuum lines, the vacuum pump creates an immediate vacuum in the cavity. The result is an immediate suspension when the prosthetic limb is put on without the need to walk or wait for the battery to draw a sufficient vacuum. The compact construction and optional depress-lock is easily hidden beneath clothing.

  • Patent number: 9937065
Abstract: A liner interface and method of making the liner interface comprising attaching non-compressible deformable electrically conductive receptors to an inner surface of a fabric layer, placing the fabric layer into a female part of a molding machine, axially deforming the deformable receptors from their initial thickness with a male part of the molding machine, injecting a molten gel elastomer into the molding machine to completely surround and adhere to the receptors and inner surface of the tubular fabric layer, allowing the molten gel to cure, and removing the male part from the molding machine and allowing the axially deformed receptors to axially expand beyond the inner surface of the cured liner interface.

  • Publication number: 20170354367
Abstract: The following invention is a device for measuring the force applied by the residual limb of an amputee to the distal region of a socket. The device has an upper surface with a “force sensor measuring region” that maintains a central location on the upper surface of the DFMD. The DFMD is affixed to the inside surface of the distal most area of the socket and maintains a permanent location of the “force sensor measuring region” of the device. Regardless of physical characteristics or changes to the socket, liner, socks, proper or improper placement of the limb into the socket, the consistent location of the “force sensor measuring region” on the DFMD provides congruent force data as it relates to the force applied by the socket to the distal area of the residual limb. The data collected by the DFMD is processed and modified by a software algorithm into meaningful data for the user and/or medical professional.

  • Patent number: 9216099
Abstract: A gel liner made by starting initially with a one-piece knitted tubular sock-shaped fabric having a closed distal end section of gel impermeable knitted fabric and an open proximal end section of gel impermeable knitted fabric and being a gel permeable loosely knitted fabric. Molding the liner to have a gel cushion layer on its interior surface with the gel passing through and partially embedding the yarns of the proximal fabric section with the outermost portions of the yarns free of gel to form at least one annular seal whereby the proximal end section forming a seal not inhibited in deformation and/or elongation by the fabric when the liner is worn thereby reducing or eliminating any twisting or discomfort of the liner during ambulation caused by the annular seal.

  • Patent number: 8979944
Abstract: A liner interface and method of making comprising non-compressible deformable electrically conductive neural receptors having electrically conductive elements extending therefrom, formed by attaching each receptor and the conductive elements to an inner surface of a fabric layer, placing the fabric layer into a first part of a molding machine having a predetermined shape, moving a second part of the molding machine having a shape complemental to the first predetermined shape toward said fabric layer to either abut or axially deform the deformable receptors and define a space therebetween, injecting a molten gel elastomer into the space to surround and adhere to the receptors, conductive elements and fabric layer, allowing the molten gel to cure to form a gel inner surface, and removing the second part from the molding machine and allowing the receptors to either axially expand beyond or remain even with the inner surface of the cured liner interface.
