  • Publication number: 20240090783
Abstract: A heart rate monitor may include a strap and a heart rate monitoring pod releasably coupled to the strap. A securement element may be disposed in the strap to selectively secure the pod to the strap. The pod may be selectively removable from the securement element and include one or more charger contacts. The pod may include one or more LEDs and/or vibrating elements to provide a light animation feedback and/or a haptic feedback to a user. A charger may be provided to charge the pod. The charger and pod may have complementary shapes to align the pod on the charger. For example, placement of the pod on the charger may align the charger contacts of the pod with one or more charging elements (e.g., pins) disposed in the charger.

  • Publication number: 20150319274
Abstract: The present invention provides a mobile electronic device protective case having a housing with an internal compartment suited for the storage of an electronic device charging cable therein. The housing of the case includes a base, sidewalls extending upward from the base, and an open upper end for enabling use of the buttons, touch screen, and the like of the mobile device within the case. Further, the base includes a mobile device charging cable compartment. The compartment is sized for receiving an electronic device cable therein, wherein the charging cable compartment can follow a serpentine, coiled, or similar arrangement along the base of the present invention in order to accommodate the length of the charging cable therein. Lastly, a movable cover can be provided over the base section in order to maintain the charging cable in place within the compartment.

  • Publication number: 20060181217
Abstract: A method of making cathodes includes forming a first intermediate assembly having a current wire in juxtaposition with an outer mandrel wire and a basket wire wound around the first two wires. The first intermediate assembly is wound around a central mandrel to form a second intermediate assembly. Pulses of energy are used to produce an alloy solder joint between the current wire and the basket wire at selected locations. The second intermediate assembly is cut into segments, and the mandrels are removed. This results in a cathode having a coiled current wire and a basket wire wound around the current wire, with the basket wire being bonded to the current wire by the alloy solder joints. The cathode includes a central bore that is substantially free of the alloy solder joint.

  • Publication number: 20040215651
Abstract: A software platform for analyzing gene expression, gene annotation, and sample information in a relational format comprises a gene expression module (200) with a data warehouse (210) for storing quantitative gene expression measurements for tissues and cell lines screened using various assays, information on bio-samples (404) and donors, experimental information, and a gene index comprising curated information from external information sources. A connection module (300) permits loading of more than one source of gene expression, gene annotation into the data warehouse (210) so that it may be searched in combination with pre-existing data in the warehouse. A user interface provides for loading user-derived data, initiating searches and for visualizing search results.

  • Publication number: 20030171876
Abstract: The present invention pertains to a system and method of analyzing gene expression, gene annotation, and sample information in a relational format supporting efficient exploration and analysis, comprising: providing a data warehouse which comprises a gene expression database for storing quantitative gene expression measurements for tissues and cell lines screened using various assays; a clinical database for storing information on bio-samples and donors; and a fragment index for biological properties for DNA fragments; receiving a query regarding gene expression of one or more DNA fragments; determining the level of gene expression of the one or more DNA fragments; correlating the level of gene expression with the clinical database and the fragment index; and displaying the results of said correlation.

  • Patent number: 6350354
Abstract: A modular solvent extraction plant for extracting metal from a metal are is provided. It includes a stage-wise, plug flow contactor that mixes an aqueous solution and an organic solvent solution into a mixed emulsion, a reactor to further mix the solutions, a separator for breaking up the emulsion into an aqueous solution and an organic solution, and a loaded organic coalescer that removes aqueous entrainment. It may also include a raffinate coalescer that removes organic entrainment, a second stage-wise, plug flow contactor that mixes an electrolyte solution with the organic solution from the loaded organic coalescer to form a second mixed emulsion, a second reactor, a second separator for breaking up the second emulsion, and an electrolyte coalescer. An organic scrub station may be used in place of the loaded organic coalescer. The contactors, reactors, separators, and coalescers can be mounted on movable structures.
