  • Publication number: 20150229203
Abstract: A resistor-less device for limiting inrush current in power system startup, for a DC-link capacitor. A DC-link capacitor is coupled to an output of an AC power source rectifying circuit, providing a DC-bus voltage. A current direction sensitive, controllable electrical switch comprising a reverse based diode in parallel with a controllable forward based diode, is in series connection with the DC-link capacitor. A diode controller is coupled to the controllable forward based diode, controlling a conducting state of the forward based diode. A system measurement signal is input to the diode controller and a diode controller module having decision logic, uses the system measurement signal to turn “on” the conducting (or non-conducting) state of the controllable forward based diode, at a predetermined time and duration, wherein inrush current on a system startup is limited.

  • Publication number: 20150229259
Abstract: An energy reducing device/system for AC motors. A processor controls the chopping angle of a connected switch, having an initialization module, assigning initial values for the chopping angle, adjustment step, and determining initial motor power value; application module, applying an adjusted chopping angle, corresponding to the initial chopping angle plus the adjustment step, to the switch; calculation and measurement module, calculating phase lag corresponding to the adjusted chopping angle, measuring current power and calculating current power to previous power difference; chopping angle adjustment module, adjusting the chopping angle according to the previous chopping angle step, adjustment step and power difference; and motor on module, determining, if the motor is on, to loop back to the application module with the adjusted chopping angle, wherein the device reduces energy usage by iterating to a phase angle that is substantially at a power usage curve minimum for the load.

  • Patent number: 7383847
Abstract: A paint implement cleaning system consists of a basic container having at least three water pressure nozzles located therein. There is at least one at the bottom of the container and others are located midway within the container and diametrically opposite from each other. The basic container has a closure cap therein which suspends cleaning implements therefrom. One implement can be a paint laden paint brush which is cleaning by way of the nozzles located within the container. A paint roller can be rotatably supported on a threaded spindle which in turn is suspended from the closure cap. A jet pipe is located adjacent to the paint roller and has a multiple of nozzles thereon which direct pressurized water streams tangentially against the circumference of the paint roller to cause the paint roller to spin while being cleaned.
