  • Publication number: 20040025270
Abstract: A floor surface treatment apparatus having a wheeled vehicle including a support for a floor surface treatment unit, the support being moveable relative to the vehicle. A floor surface treatment unit is pivotally carried by the support for swinging movement relative thereto. The support is configured to raise and lower the unit relative to the floor surface, upon movement of the support relative to the vehicle, through a range of working positions in which the unit maintains a generally vertical orientation relative to the floor surface and is generally in contact therewith and a servicing position in which the unit is swung up relative to the vehicle above the floor surface to a position in which the unit is generally angled relative to the floor surface.

  • Publication number: 20030173959
Abstract: Discloses methods to perform magnetic testing of tensioning elements in a pre-stressed concrete cylinder, such as a pipe or water reservoir and testing apparatus. The apparatus includes magnetic flux production means and detector means disposed proximal to a surface of the cylinder in a plane in common with the magnetic flux production means that is orthogonal to an axis of the cylinder. The apparatus operates over a range of low frequency signals, for example, between 20 and 300 hertz or a pulse. Output of the inspection apparatus includes a signal and distance plot showing the results of testing a cylinder at one or more frequencies. In accordance with another method of analysis, a characteristic of the phase of the output over distance is plotted, including the phase or representations of the in-phase or quadrature components of the received signal in relation to the driving signal.

  • Patent number: 6602577
Abstract: An embossed multiple ply paper product which displays aesthetically pleasing decorative attributes. The embossed multiple ply paper product also exhibits the functional characteristics of softness, absorbency, and drape. The decorative attributes comprise embossed patterns of indicia displaying a high quality cloth-like appearance for a softer, more quilted look.

  • Publication number: 20030043755
Abstract: Selected data (LSP1, LSP2) is monitored among other data passing through label switched paths (LSPs) of a communications network of interconnected label switching routers (LSR1-LSR4). The method comprises designating at least one of the routers (LSR3) as a monitoring station and at least one of the routers (here LSR3 also) as a probe interface station, and connecting a probe apparatus to that interface station. The monitoring station (LSR3) is configured to multicast forward the selected data for monitoring additionally to the probe apparatus via the probe interface (506). Also disclosed is a probe apparatus including means for configuring the router to perform multicast forwarding of selected data to the interface.

  • Patent number: 6503026
Abstract: An apparatus and method for installing blown installation where insulation is entrained in a stream of air and is blown through an electrostatic dissipating hose. The hose contains an electrically conductive and grounded element to dissipate the static charges built up in the entrained insulation passing through the hose and exiting the hose for application into a selected space.

  • Patent number: 6248934
Abstract: The invention provides methods and compositions for expressing targeted gene products in vertebrate neurons. The compositions include gene trap vectors comprising a polynucleotide comprising promoterless selectable marker and axon reporter encoding sequences, which may be operatively joined to an internal ribosome-entry site, and may comprise a splice acceptor site located 5′ to the selectable marker and axon reporter encoding sequences. The methods include methods of expressing an axon reporter in a cell by transferring the subject vectors into an embryonic stem cell and incubating the cell under conditions whereby the cell or a progeny of the cell differentiates into a neuron comprising an axon or dendrites, and the neuron expresses the axon reporter under the transcriptional control of the gene; and specifically detecting the axon reporter in the axon or dendrites. Neuronal specific expression may also be effected in disclosed binary systems.

  • Patent number: 5977265
Abstract: High flow brominated polycarbonates, useful as flame retardant additives for other polymers such as polyesters, are obtained by equilibration of a brominated aromatic polycarbonate such as a tetrabromobisphenol A homo- or copolycarbonate with a di- or polyhydroxy aromatic compound such as bisphenol A, or a diaryl carbonate, and an equilibration catalyst, under conditions such that the weight average molecular weight of the brominated polycarbonate is reduced by at least 35%. Preferred equilibration catalysts are Group I metal carboxylates, such as sodium stearate, and hexaalkylguanidinium salts.
