  • Publication number: 20060177155
Abstract: The disclosure pertains to a reclosable bag wherein the web or film is folded to form a top folded edge. This fold further creates the front wall and an upper portion of the rear wall. A zipper is sealed within the upper fold to the front wall and the upper portion of the rear wall. A bottom folded edge is formed thereby forming the lower portion of the rear wall. The upper and lower portions of the rear wall are joined by a fin seal. The upper folded edge gives the appearance of a seal, particularly if a sealing bar is used to seal portions of the front wall and the upper rear wall immediately adjacent to the top folded edge.

  • Publication number: 20060177156
Abstract: Reclosable bags are disclosed wherein a sheet of web is folded so that outward longitudinal quarters are folded over a central longitudinal half in a horizontal form fill seal apparatus. The central longitudinal half forms the back wall of the bag while the two outward longitudinal quarters form the front wall of the bag. A fin seal is formed where the longitudinal edges meet. The zipper is formed within the fin seal. However, in an alternative embodiment, the zipper is formed within the top fold while the longitudinal edges are joined by a fin seal.

  • Patent number: 7069462
Abstract: Scheduling operation modes of a managed device. A method embodiment of the present invention includes providing a device remote from the managed device with an interface enabling selection of options for scheduling the occurrence of operation modes for the managed device. Options selected through the interface are received from the remote device. The occurrence of operation modes of the managed device are then scheduled according to received options.

  • Patent number: 7025841
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for ultrasonically welding plastic parts together. The ultrasonic welding apparatus includes: an air cylinder having a piston rod; an ultrasonic horn substantially rigidly coupled to an end of the piston rod and having a distal end; a rotary anvil having an axis of rotation generally perpendicular to an axis of the piston rod and comprising a periphery; a transducer for converting electric potential differences into ultrasound wave energy, the horn being acoustically coupled to the transducer; and drive means for causing the anvil to rotate. The distal end of the horn confronts the periphery of the anvil throughout rotation of the anvil. On one application, interlocked zipper strips are passed through a gap between the distal end of the horn and the periphery of the anvil. The anvil periphery has a plateau that presses the zipper against the distal end of the horn. The transducer is energized in synchronism with the plateau being opposed to the distal end of the horn.

  • Publication number: 20040264446
Abstract: A system and method for providing telecommunications service to users in a service area using a wireless link. An office-side connection system is provided for connecting a local distribution system to the central office switch. The local distribution system includes a cross-connect system and a radio for linking to a second local distribution system. The second distribution system includes subscriber connections for connecting to the user telecommunications devices. The radio may be enclosed in a hut or cabinet with the cross-connect system. The radio may also be enclosed in a hut while the cross-connect system is enclosed in a cabinet. The radio may be temporary to provide a temporary radio link until a permanent optical or copper cable can replace the radio.

  • Patent number: 6836630
Abstract: A multi-color imaging apparatus that can support a plurality of color-associated rotatable-toner-transfer-devices includes a rotatable-toner-transfer-device disengagement unit. The disengagement unit can selectively disengage a selected color-associated rotatable-toner-transfer-device depending on whether the selected color-associated rotatable-toner-transfer-device is required to generate an image. In one example the imaging apparatus can also include a processor and a computer readable memory device. In this example a rotatable-toner-transfer-device disengage program can be stored in the memory device. The program is executable by the processor to allow the rotatable-toner-transfer-device disengagement unit to selectively disengage the selected color-associated rotatable-toner-transfer-device.

  • Publication number: 20040156064
Abstract: One representative embodiment provides for a printing system which includes a computer configured to present a document file for printing as a multi-page print job, and a plurality of print engines accessible by the computer. The printing system further includes a controller configured to identify, for each page to be printed of the print job, a next-available print engine from the print engines for printing the page, and to cause the identified print engine to print the page. Another representative embodiment provides for a collating apparatus having input trays for receiving pages of a multi-page print job, output trays for receiving the multi-page print job, and a controller to cause the collating apparatus to draw pages from the input trays, to sort or collate the pages, and to place the pages in the output trays in the form of the print job.

  • Publication number: 20040135838
Abstract: A requirement of a replaceable component to print a print job at a printing device is derived from a predetermined use per page of the replaceable component at the printing device. If an availability of the replaceable component at the printing device is less than the requirement, a diagnostic is output. The requirement and the availability are approximations expressed in a number of pages.

  • Publication number: 20040085565
Abstract: A printing device has a replaceable component. The printing device uses the replaceable component when printing. The replaceable component at the printing device is measured to determine its availability. A requirement is calculated as to what is needed from the replaceable component in order to print a print job at the printing device. The print job is transmitted to the printing device when the availability is not less than the requirement but not when the availability is less than the requirement.

  • Publication number: 20040088704
Abstract: A method for running real time tasks alongside a general purpose operating system, such that the real-time tasks are not pre-emptible by the general purpose operating system, and the general purpose operating system runs as if the real-time tasks were not present. This is achieved by disabling all interrupts except one, which is given to the real time tasks, and then periodically polling the hardware devices, notifying the general purpose operating system of hardware events and the passage of time as and when is necessary.

  • Publication number: 20040080775
Abstract: A replaceable component is installable in and removable from a printing device and contains one or more supplies used in printing by the printing device. A memory and a port are in the replaceable component. Data that characterizes usage of the one or more supplies in printing by the printing device is stored in the memory. The data can be transferred through a cable from the port to a host computer using a data transfer protocol of the port.

  • Publication number: 20040080783
Abstract: A printing device has a replaceable component. Printing by the printing device utilizes the replaceable component. Printing with the printing device is stopped when an end-of-life condition is detected for the replaceable component. A list of one or more identifiers (IDs) is output for pending print jobs. In response to an input of one of the IDs, the corresponding pending print job is printed.
