  • Patent number: 11931264
Abstract: A humeral head assembly is provided that includes an articular body and a coupler. The articular body includes a coupling portion disposed on a side of the articular body opposite an articular surface. The coupling portion includes a continuous zone of eccentricity adjustment. The coupler portion optionally includes one or more than one discrete position site. The coupler includes a first portion and a second portion opposite the first portion. The first portion is configured to mate with the coupling portion and the second portion is configured to mate with another member of a joint prosthesis. A coupling portion with the continuous range of eccentricity adjustment can be provided on a bone anchor and the eccentricity of another component can be selected by motion of a coupler, such as a tray for reverse humeral assemblies, along the coupling portion of the anchor.

  • Publication number: 20220126559
Abstract: A process for producing an adhesive-free laminate is described herein. The process includes printing an ink on a surface of a first film, exposure of the printed film to UV radiation such that the ink is at least partially cured, contacting the first film to a second film such that the ink is between the first and second film, and exposing the combination of the first film, the ink and the second film to a second UV radiation. It has been found that this process can produce a high-quality laminate, without the presence of an adhesive.

  • Patent number: 11203189
Abstract: A lidding film to use in food packaging, or the packaging of suitable non-food products, includes a substrate having an outer major surface on which is disposed at least a 5 heat-sealing layer (HS layer), a non-heat-sealing layer (NTIS layer), and a hydrophobic coating. On a side of the lidding film that corresponds to the outer major surface of the substrate is a peripheral region that encircles a central region. At least a first portion of the HS layer fills the peripheral region, and the NIS layer is absent as a cover on, or does not cover, the HIS layer in the peripheral region. At least a first portion of the NHS layer fills the 10 central region, and the HS layer is absent as a cover on, or does not cover, the NIS layer in the central region.

  • Publication number: 20210087345
Abstract: Water soluble particles can be incorporated into articles that are produced from a polymer based matrix with reduced appearance implications. Using a specific formulation including a water permeable polymer, water soluble particles and a surfactant, and a specific process for combining these components, agglomeration of the particles can be reduced. This is particularly useful for applications where the particles are incorporated into packaging films and extracted upon exposure to moist products.

  • Publication number: 20180361724
Abstract: The present invention is directed to packaging laminates for containing a food or pharmaceutical/medical product which includes an exterior film, a multilayer interior film comprising a product-contact layer, a diisocyanate-scavenging layer and an exterior film-contact layer, and a polyurethane adhesive layer bonding the exterior film to the multilayer interior film. The present invention reduces the amount of any unreacted diisocyanate precursor and primary amines which can migrate to a product in packaging assemblies formed with a polyurethane adhesive. This is achieved when an interior film (commonly known as a sealant film) includes a layer comprising a polyether polyol which is not in direct contact with the polyurethane adhesive. With this approach, the polyether polyol reacts with any residua! diisocyanate and/or primary amines which migrates from the polyurethane adhesive through the laminated assembly and thus, neutralizes any potential undesirable effects of these compounds.

  • Publication number: 20180222161
Abstract: The present invention is directed to rigid or semi-rigid trays having a bulk layer comprising a crystalline aromatic polyester and a capping layer which is in direct contact with the bulk layer. The capping layer comprises a copolymer having a first structural repeating unit of ethylene and a second structural repeating unit selected from the following: (i) an acrylate-based moiety: fit) at least 12% by weight relative to the total weight of the copolymer of vinyl acetate; and (iii) an anhydride or carboxylic acid. It has been discovered that the bulk layer and the capping layer of the present invention can be readily co-extruded together and have sufficient bond strength to each other despite their chemical dissimilarity. In some preferred embodiments, the capping layer acts as a heat seal layer and is formulated to heat seal to conventional polyolefin-based lidstock.
