  • Publication number: 20160019777
Abstract: Systems and methods for using state machines to manage alarming states and pre-alarming states of a hazard detection system are described herein. The state machines can include one or more sensor state machines that can control the alarming states and one or more system state machines that can control the pre-alarming states. Each state machine can transition among any one of its states based on raw sensor data values, filtered sensor data values, and transition conditions. Filters may be used to transform raw sensor values into filtered values that can be used by one or more state machines. Such filters may improve accuracy of data interpretation by filtering out readings that may distort data interpretation or cause false positives. For example, smoke sensor readings may be filtered by a smoke alarm filter to mitigate presence of steam.

  • Publication number: 20150096352
Abstract: In an embodiment, a method determines one or more sources of carbon monoxide (CO) in a smart-home environment that includes a plurality of smart devices that have at least measurement and communication capabilities. The method includes measuring a level of CO in the smart-home environment to generate a CO measurement, and providing the CO measurement and one or more current characteristics of the smart-home environment, from one or more of the smart devices to an analyzing device. The method further includes evaluating, by the analyzing device and with the CO measurement and the current characteristics of the smart-home environment, a set of CO correlation scenarios that attribute generation of CO to a corresponding one of a set of specific sources, and selecting one or more of the specific sources as the most likely source of the CO, by aggregating results of the correlation scenarios.

  • Publication number: 20150097958
Abstract: Security keypad device for detecting tampering includes a keypad, a high power wireless module for communicating data via a local area network, a low power wireless module communicating data via a personal area network, and a cellular module for communicating data via a wide area network. The device further includes an active infrared position sensor comprising of a light source for emitting infrared light and an infrared sensor for detecting reflected infrared light. The active infrared position sensor is configured to sense the position of the device based on detecting the reflected infrared light. The device further includes an accelerometer configured to measure acceleration forces and a processor. The processor is configured to determine that the position of the device changed based on positional data from the active infrared position sensor or acceleration data from the accelerometer.

  • Publication number: 20150090711
Abstract: The portable bottle system includes a vessel sleeve, a chamber assembly, a shell attachment, and an adapter. The vessel sleeve has a top rim and a bottom rim with external threads. The external threads sealingly engage threads on the brim of the chamber assembly. A cartridge or wedge section is loaded into the chamber assembly to deliver additives to dissolve into the liquid in the system. The chamber assembly also has a capped end to define an interior volume, so that a cup is formed. The shell attachment has an upper rim and a lower rim. The lower rim stacks on top of the top rim of the vessel sleeve, forming a water tight seal and the bottle shape of the shell attachment and the vessel sleeve. The adapter removably attaches the shell attachment to release or to receive liquids. The adapter may have a nipple, straw, or inlet hole.

  • Publication number: 20130233902
Abstract: An enhanced camera transport system includes a primary strap and a selectively removable secondary strap which allows a user to comfortably carry and transport two cameras simultaneously. The straps each comprise couplers that are configured to engage with an attachment point on a camera otherwise reserved by engagement with a camera stand such as a tripod, monopod, or the like. Following general camera construction, the attachment points are found on the bottom of the cameras. In some embodiments, the couplers are slidably attached to the straps to assist with repositioning of the cameras from a transport position to a picture taking position.

  • Patent number: PP23376
Abstract: A grapevine cultivar having a combination of good winter hardiness, vigor, grape cluster size, disease resistance and overall suitability as a red wine grape; the vine is winter hardy to about ?40 degrees F. (about ?40 degrees C.) and the grape is well-suited to the commercial production of Ice Wine because its grape clusters have a tendency to resist splitting and falling off the cluster after a hard freeze; the grapevine also produces relatively large clusters of grapes that are beneficial to commercial production.
