Abstract: Disclosed are new compositions consisting of mixtures of flame retardants for thermoplastic and thermoset polymers with the addition of halogenated compounds and phosphonate oligomers, polymers or copolymers, and optionally, additional flame retardants. The compositions exhibit excellent flame retardant properties. Further disclosed are articles of manufacture produced from these materials, such as fibers, films, coated substrates, moldings, foams, fiber-reinforced articles, wires, and cables including these compositions, or any combination thereof.
