  • Patent number: 7137594
Abstract: An interior cabin configuration determination system (10) includes multiple objects (16), including two or more monuments or passenger service units, that are within an interior cabin (13). The objects (16) include card readers (12). Object controllers (18) are coupled to the card readers (12) and determine the position of the objects (18) in response to the position information on the cards (12). A remotely located controller (20) determines the configuration of the objects (18) in response to the position information.

  • Patent number: 7086874
Abstract: A seat track system for conducting electricity between spaced apart seats, such as between passenger seats of an aircraft passenger cabin, comprising a conductive tube assembly and a housing. The conductive tube assembly includes a conductive inner layer having a first conductive portion and a second conductive portion that is structurally independent of the first conductive portion. The first and the second portions define a socket. The tube assembly further includes a dielectric outer layer that is elastic so as to exert a biasing force on the conductive inner layer to urge the first portion and the second portion together. The housing is operable to receive the conductive tube assembly and support the tube assembly between the first and the second seats. The socket is operable to receive a conductive member that mates with the conductive inner layer to conduct electricity to and from the conductive tube assembly.

  • Patent number: 7074073
Abstract: The electrical connector insert, apparatus and associated fabrication method provide a connector insert attached to flat wire segments. In addition, the connector insert retains the industry accepted openings into which connection portions, such as pins, of the component are positioned. The insert includes at least one housing, which includes multiple openings to receive at least one connector portion of at least one component and multiple conductive contacts, such as conductive pins and/or conductive sockets, that extend at least partially within the at least one housing, where each conductive contact is associated with an opening. The insert also includes at least one flat wire segment having conductive traces and connection elements to connect the conductive contacts of the housing to the conductive traces. If there are at least two housings, the housings may be sized and shaped to cooperate with each other when the housings are positioned adjacent one another.

  • Patent number: 6929218
Abstract: An aircraft is provided comprising a fuselage and a central monitoring system positioned within the fuselage. A plurality of seating elements is also positioned within said fuselage. Each of the plurality of seating elements includes a plurality of seat options integrated into the seating element and an electronics control system integrated into the seating element. The electronics control system includes a seat processor having logic adapted to monitor an operational status of each of the seat options and communicate the operational status to the central monitoring system via wireless communication.
