  • Publication number: 20160294963
Abstract: A method for inferring a location of a user device in a network is disclosed. The method comprises retrieving event records corresponding to a user device event; identifying, for a particular user device, a time period for which there exists no event record; retrieving other event records based on the identified time period; and inferring a location for the user device during the identified time period based on the retrieved event records.

  • Publication number: 20160224901
Abstract: Methods for detecting a common user of a plurality of user devices in a network and for detecting a common cohort for a plurality of users are disclosed. The methods comprise receiving a plurality of event records. Each of the event records corresponds to an event in a network and comprises a device identifier and event information. A correlation is then calculated between a first subset of the event records having a first device identifier and a second subset of the event records having a second device identifier. Based on the correlation, it is then calculated whether the first and second device identifiers relate to user devices associated with the same user, and whether the first and second device identifiers relate to user devices associated with users belonging to a common cohort.

  • Publication number: 20160196494
Abstract: A method for inferring a relationship between a first user and an area is disclosed, where the user is associated with one or more user devices. The method comprises retrieving event records having user device information corresponding to the user devices, and inferring, based on the event records, a relationship between the user and the area. A method for determining the presence of users at a location of a plurality of locations organised in a hierarchical structure is also disclosed. The method comprises receiving an indication of a location selected from the hierarchical structure, determining nodes associated with the selected location, retrieving event records from each node, and determining, based on the retrieved records, a number of users located at the selected location.

  • Publication number: 20150254651
Abstract: A method of redirecting financial transactions between users of a financial transactions network is disclosed. The method includes determining financial transaction pathways between users of a financial transactions network, where the financial transaction pathways are indicative of one or more financial transactions between the users. The method also includes applying one or more edge weights to each pathway and calculating a centrality value for each user based on the one or more edge weights. The method further includes providing information to a first user of the financial transactions network that is configured to induce the first user to redirect at least a part of one financial transaction from a second user to a third user, when the third user has a higher centrality value than the second user.

  • Publication number: 20150018005
Abstract: Method and system for testing base station location information comprising identifying a second base station neighbouring a first base station. Obtaining information describing the locations of the first base station and the second base station. Determining if the location of the first base station and the location of the second base station are further apart than a predetermined threshold, wherein if the location of the first base station and the location of the second base station are further apart than a predetermined threshold then indicating a first error.

  • Patent number: 8825407
Abstract: A method and system for determining a traveled route of a mobile device in a mobile network. Analysis of a network usage record identifies activities and associated activity information of the mobile device. A series of consecutive movements of the mobile device along a path of locations is determined from the activity information. Historical sets of routes of the mobile device are accessed. Each route is a set of locations from an origin location to a destination location of the route. At least one common route is ascertained from the set of routes. The locations in each common route include all of the locations on the path. The origin location and destination location of each common route is the origin location and destination location of the path, respectively. A common route of the at least one common route is designated as the traveled route of the mobile device.
