  • Patent number: 9881126
Abstract: In a method and system for populating multi-segment layouts with related multimodal medical images, a relationship is determined between subsets of the multimodal medical images. The relationship is used to determine selected subsets initially selected for display in respective segments of a segmented display. Appropriate images relating to selected subsets are used to populate the remaining display segments.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 1, 2014
Date of Patent: January 30, 2018
    Assignee: Siemens PLC
Inventors: Joan Alvarez Del Castillo, Kevin Scott Hakl, Christian Mathers, Abhinav Shanker
  • Patent number: 9349184
Abstract: In a method and apparatus for identifying regions of interest in medical images of a subject, in particular images captured by a medical imaging apparatus, such as a PET scanner, a list of voxels of the image is obtained, and sorted according to a first variable. A user-selection of an initial voxel in the image is then registered, and at least one voxel or group of voxels from the sorted list is selected as a region of interest, according to a property of the at least one voxel or group in relation to the user-selected initial voxel. The image may be pre-processed to generate the sorted list of voxels, following which the user selection of the initial voxel is registered.

Assignee: Siemens Medical Solutions USA, Inc.
Inventors: Nicholas Delanie Hirst Dowson, Thomas George Wright, Timor Kadir, Kevin Scott Hakl

  • Patent number: 9020218
Abstract: In a method or apparatus for generating, from medical image data of a subject from a functional imaging modality, a modified intensity projection image for display. An intensity projection image data set is obtained from the image data. A segmentation for the image data is obtained. Based on information from the segmentation, a modified display property is calculated for at least one voxel of the intensity projection image data set.

  • Patent number: 8078258
Abstract: A method is described for acquiring and analysing the data produced by Positron Emission Tomography (PET), which method provides for an accurate estimation of vascular compartment volume, VB. An MRI scan and the PET scan is performed simultaneously and the results of the former is used to derive a value for VB. The value so derived is then used in pharmacokinetic modelling along with the results of the functional scan.

  • Publication number: 20090093701
Abstract: In a patient scanner and method, a scan image is registered with a reference image and superimposed. In an iterative process the images are normalized and the transparency varied to assist in the identification of abnormalities.

  • Publication number: 20080287772
Abstract: Method and apparatus motion compensation in Positron Emission Tomography (PET) imaging. PET and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) are performed simultaneously and the latter is used to determine motion of the subject during the acquisition process. The PET image data are then corrected according to the subject motion so determined.
