  • Patent number: 12162316
Abstract: A tyre monitoring device, tyre monitoring system and method including a wireless interface having range determining capability and a processor. The processor: receives a command via the wireless interface from a second device of the tyre monitoring system; determines a range to the second device; and executes the command if the range to the second device is less than a predetermined threshold.

  • Publication number: 20180200967
Abstract: A tooling assembly and method for forming a flange of a composite component is provided. The tooling assembly includes a mold configured to receive a composite material. The composite material may include a plurality of fabric plies impregnated with resin. The fabric plies may be debulked as they are being laid using a plurality of debulking tools, with the radius of each debulking tool growing as additional fabric plies are laid. A gas-permeable bagging material may be placed along the edge of the composite material to restrict resin flow while allowing for outgassing. The tooling assembly may further include a flange shoe tool that is joined with the mold to form the flange of the composite material. The mold and flange shoe tool may define a chamber and venting passageways that allow gases such as volatile compounds to escape while the composite component is being cured.

  • Publication number: 20060162428
Abstract: The invention provides an apparatus and method for detecting the location of a gas leak within a test region. The invention comprises an array of calibrated sensors for measuring a plurality of gas concentrations, a control system coupled to the sensor array for calculating and optionally displaying a direction of higher gas concentration, and, an actuator for moving the sensor array under control of the control system, wherein the control system causes the array of sensors to measure the gas concentrations and move in the direction of higher concentration until a stopping condition is achieved. The stopping condition may be achieved when the measured gas concentration exceeds a predetermined threshold or when the concentration otherwise likely corresponds to the leak location based on a comparison with previously measured values.

  • Publication number: 20050250002
Abstract: The application relates to improvements to the composition and architecture of compressionless fuel cells. The invention includes a hybrid or composite catalyst layer which includes a blend of catalyst particles, such as platinum on carbon, and fibers, such as graphite fibers. The invention also relates to a castable gas diffusion layer (GDL) which is both porous and electrically conductive. The GDL is formed from conductive metal flakes, such as gold and silver, carbon particles and binder to hold the flakes and particles together to form a porous foam microstructure. The invention further relates to a modified flow field for flowing fluid to or from the catalyst layer of a fuel cell. The flow field comprises at least one primary channel having a longitudinal axis and a plurality of secondary channels extending transversely from the primary channel at an angle relative to the longitudinal axis.

  • Publication number: 20050114747
Abstract: A method and system for generating a set of scan diagnostic patterns for diagnosing fails in scan chains. The method including: (a) selecting a set of latches; (b) selecting a pattern from a set of test patterns; (c) determining the number of lateral insertions of the selected pattern; (d) determining a number of new lateral insertions that the selected pattern would add to the set of scan diagnostic pattern and adding the selected pattern and a corresponding new insertion count to a count list; (e) repeating steps (b) through (d) until all patterns of the set of test patterns have been selected; (f) selecting a pattern from the count list; (g) adding the pattern selected from the count list to the set of scan diagnostic patterns; and (h) repeating steps (b) through (g) until a there are a predetermined number of patterns in the set of scan diagnostic patterns.

  • Publication number: 20030120425
Abstract: A self-correcting wireless inertial navigation system and method employ a mobile unit having an inertial sensor and a transmitter connected to the output of the initial sensor for broadcasting an RF measurement signal. A base station has receivers responsive to the signal, an interferometer connected to the receivers and a processor programmed to obtain inertial measurements from the signal and to correct the measurements in accordance with phase difference triangulation information derived by the interferometer.
