  • Patent number: 9611650
Abstract: A rail system that may be comprised of various components such as an upper rail, support rail, bottom rail, squash blocks, balusters, post covers, and ancillary components, such as post skirts and caps. In one exemplary embodiment, the rail system may be uniquely designed to accommodate perpendicular and angled installations (e.g., both in the horizontal and vertical planes). Furthermore, in another exemplary embodiment, the rail system may be easily assembled such that the support hardware is substantially hidden from view after installation, thereby enhancing the appearance of the railing.

  • Publication number: 20160312991
Abstract: A lighting apparatus includes a housing with a front surface member that has a rectangular opening. A light refracting member is installed within the rectangular opening, and the light refracting member includes a flat front face that is mounted substantially flush with the front surface member of the housing. A lighting source is installed within the housing and is configured to emit light towards the light refracting member. The lighting source includes a support body with an aperture within which one or more light emitters are installed. The light refracting member also includes a rear face that is defined by a convex lens structure that rearwardly extends into the aperture of the support body and extends longitudinally parallel to a longer dimension of the rectangular opening.

  • Publication number: 20160201335
Abstract: A railing bracket system includes a cup that has a cup bottom wall and two opposed cup side walls. The cup is adapted to receive an end of a railing member. A cap has a first cap wall disposed between two opposed cap side walls and a tab extending from at least one side wall. The cap is adapted to cover the cup. The cup is configured to receive the cap in both of a first orientation wherein the cap is installed over the cup and a second orientation wherein the cap is installed under the cup bottom wall. The tab secures the cap to the cup in both the first orientation and the second orientation.

  • Patent number: 9322180
Abstract: A rail receiving member includes a rail receiving member having a bottom wall, a plurality of side walls, and a back wall, and is configured to receive and connect to an end of a rail member. The back wall of that rail receiving member may be attached to a vertical member and covered by a cap. In an adjustable railing bracket installation, a hinge assembly can be selectively coupled to the rail receiving member in at least two orientations, each of which allowing for rotation of the rail receiving member about a hinge axis of the hinge assembly. A first orientation permits rotation of the rail receiving member about the hinge axis of the hinge assembly in a vertical plane. A second orientation permits rotation of the rail receiving member about the hinge axis of the hinge assembly in a horizontal plane.

  • Publication number: 20150292234
Abstract: A barrier panel is formed of a first vertical rail member and a second vertical rail member mounted to and extending between top and bottom rail members. At least one vertical support member is also mounted to and extends between the top and bottom rail members. The first and second vertical rail members include first and second openings, respectively, spaced apart along their lengths. Horizontal cables are mounted to and extend between the first vertical rail member and second vertical rail member. A first end of each horizontal cable is secured within one of the first openings in the first vertical rail member and a second end of each horizontal cable is secured within an opposite one of the second openings in the second vertical rail member. Each cable further passes through an additional opening provided in the vertical support member (which is positioned between the first and second vertical rail members).
