  • Patent number: 7033988
Abstract: Detergent compositions, preferably tablets, comprise an improved solubility aid wherein the solubility aid contains an organic molecule, which has a first polar group and a second polar group separated from each other by less than 5 aliphatic carbon atoms. The use of the solubility aid provides detergent tablets which are both strong and durable to resist breakage during storage and transportation, but which also disintegrate rapidly upon contact with an aqueous wash solution so that the components of the tablet can provide detersive benefits during the wash process.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 22, 2003
Date of Patent: April 25, 2006
Assignee: The Procter & Gamble Company
Inventors: Kevin Todd Norwood, Gayle Marie Frankenbach, Rajeev Ashok Modi, Mike Rene Weaver
  • Patent number: 6630439
Abstract: Solid detergent compositions comprising from 8-60 wt. % of a surfactant system and having a Grand Compatibility Index of at least 0.5, preferably at least 0.6, are claimed. The use of these detergent compositions in a washing process for soiled laundry is also claimed.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 7, 2001
Date of Patent: October 7, 2003
Assignee: The Procter & Gamble Company
Inventors: Kevin Todd Norwood, Eugene Joseph Pancheri

  • Publication number: 20030073591
Abstract: Detergent compositions having a detersive surfactant system, an effervescent system comprising an acid source comprising an acid or acid-salt blend having the formula
    Type: Application

  • Patent number: 6294512
Abstract: Detergent compositions contain sticky particles with at least 45% by weight of a sticky surfactant and non-sticky particles with less than about 1% by weight of sticky surfactant. The particles are further characterized by their size ranges and bulk densities. Compositions containing potassium ions are described. Dissolution of the compositions in aqueous media is optimized.
