  • Publication number: 20240062641
Abstract: Disclosed is a system for monitoring confined spaces. The system includes a portable area monitor that operates in a local LTE network, and thus, is included into a cloud-based platform. A Wi-Fi antenna is included in the confined space, enabling communications with both smart communication devices and gas sensors worn by workers while inside the confined space, thus providing cloud network visibility.

  • Publication number: 20230388742
Abstract: Smart walkie-talkies are configured with multiple subscriber identity module (SIM) components that enable wireless connections with private and public networks. A private network for a facility is associated with geofences defining areas in which access to and communication via the private network is permitted for authorized subscribers. The smart walkie-talkie device uses a first SIM component while within a geofence to connect to the private network. When exiting the geofence, the smart walkie-talkie device uses a second SIM component instead to connect to another network (e.g., a commercial cellular network) and is not permitted to connect to the private network. A smart walkie-talkie device further relies upon peer-to-peer communication as a back-up when private networks, public networks, and other mediums are unavailable.

  • Publication number: 20230385726
Abstract: Tracked locations and time-logging information of smart walkie-talkies enable improved event detection and worker profiling in a facility. Interactions between a worker and facility equipment, as well as collaborations between the worker and other workers are determined based on mapping the tracked locations of a smart walkie-talkie used by the worker. A machine learning model is trained and implemented to use information related to these interactions and collaborations to build experience profiles and evidence profiles for the worker. For example, the machine learning model is trained to generate a particular format for an experience profile that emphasizes significant experience or work by the worker by way of the determined interactions and collaborations.

  • Publication number: 20230388758
Abstract: A smart walkie-talkie having enhanced functionality that facilitates blind use by a user. The smart walkie-talkie includes a display screen and a blind use interface. The blind use interface includes a push-to-talk (PTT) button. When activated, the PTT button causes audio data to be collected. The collected audio data is streamed to a recipient device and/or automatically transcribed in a particular text-based communication thread. The blind use interface includes large pressure-sensitive buttons disposed on the front face of the smart walkie-talkie for navigating information displayed on the display screen. At least some of the buttons have sloped surfaces to form a concave arrangement easily located by a user in blind use. The blind use interface further includes a rear-facing audio speaker. Output of the audio speaker is directionally reflected towards a head region of a user when the smart walkie-talkie is attached to the user in a blind use position.

  • Patent number: 11537835
Abstract: Disclosed is a smart badge device that can be included into a private LTE network established in a facility. The device includes position tracking and estimating capabilities, and operates along with a cloud-based service suite. The cloud services act as a platform between the device and a number of facility software systems. The device also operates with internal and external equipment so that an administrator can track employees and establish data flow between the badge and the facility software systems.

  • Patent number: 9672486
Abstract: Disclosed is a web-based tool for facilitating the inspection process for evaluating inspection items relating to assets at a site. A website is used to interface with the hand held devices used by inspectors in the field and create consistency in the way questions are posed, and recorded for inspection items. Unique identifiers are associated with each item so that they can be tracked. Also, a wireless camera arrangement is implemented where any photographs taken of a condition of a particular inspection item will automatically be incorporated into the form open regarding that item.

  • Publication number: 20050165853
Abstract: A local imager (202) copies each allocation unit (302) occupied by a file (305) of a file system (102) to a locally-stored image file (204) within the same partition (104) as the file system (102). The allocation units (302) may be compressed as they are copied, resulting in a locally-stored image file (204) that occupies fewer allocation units (302) than the original file system (102). In addition, the local imager (202) adds a directory map (312) to the locally-stored image file (204) that associates copied allocation units (302) in the locally-stored image file (204) with names of corresponding files (305) from the file system (102).

  • Patent number: 5964872
Abstract: An automated method and system for tailoring a plurality of commonly configured computer environments. The method includes searching one of the commonly configured environments for predetermined data items which must be tailored in each environment. Tailored data items are generated for each of the predetermined data items, and a table is made indicating where in each common environment each particular tailored data item should be stored. A store process executes in each common environment, and reads the table and stores the tailored data items at the appropriate locations. The method achieves the rapid reconfiguration of many computers in a reliable manner.
