  • Patent number: 11950914
Abstract: Multiple circuits in a computing device can share one or more conductive elements. The use of the conductive element can vary by circuit, such as an antenna radiator for a radio frequency (RF) circuit or an electrode for an electrocardiography (ECG) circuit. The circuitry sharing a conductive element can utilize signals obtained over different frequency ranges. Those ranges can be used to select decoupling circuitry, or elements, that can enable the respective circuits to obtain signals over a respective frequency range, excluding signals over one or more other frequency ranges corresponding to other circuitry sharing the circuit. Such an approach allows for concurrent independent operation of the circuitry sharing a conductive element.

  • Patent number: 8020722
Abstract: A lightweight, ergonomically beneficial, hydrodynamic, and volumetrically efficient hybrid pressure vessel having at least two longitudinally extending, semi-cylindrical sections with flattened rib portions at a common interface between the sections. Additional longitudinally extending sections may be employed to provide additional internal volume. One or more apertures extend through the ribs to provide communication between sections. The pressure vessel comprises a cast metal material, optionally including exterior reinforcing structure for containing internal pressure.

  • Patent number: 7726243
Abstract: A parachute flare igniter assembly includes a novel safety for arresting the motion of a slider when subjected to external forces, but allows slider motion when subjected to intended cable actuation forces. The igniter safety includes a housing, a slider, a cable and a sleeve. The slider, connected to the cable, is slidably received within the housing. The cable moves the slider by applying a cable force conventionally obtained by actuation of a parachute associated with the flare and connected to an end of the cable opposite an end connected to the slider. The sleeve is connected to the cable and is disposed between the housing and the slider, so that the sleeve will arrest the slider with respect to the housing when the cable force is not present. A flare and a method of providing a safety in an igniter assembly is also provided.

  • Patent number: 6038534
Abstract: A method and apparatus for generating keyboard commands in response to voice commands is described. An association between command strings and a set of keyboard combinations is established. Each command string is associated with a keyboard combination. Command strings are generated by a sound engine in response to voice commands. A keyboard combination is selected based on the association between keyboard combinations and command strings. The keyboard combination is sent to a computer system as mimicked signals from a keyboard. The keyboard combinations are mimicked as signals from the keyboard by sending the keyboard combination to a keyboard controller and then sending a message to the keyboard controller to send the key combination as signals generated from the keyboard. Alternatively, a keyboard message may be sent to the operating system running on the computer system, causing the computer system to respond to the keyboard combination as signals generated from a keyboard.
