  • Publication number: 20200155789
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for determining an efficacy of music therapy are provided. An example system initiates a music therapy session for a patient on a music therapy device. The system provides the patient with a predefined type of music during the music therapy session at a pre-defined volume. The system ends the music therapy session. The system then receives a request to determine an efficacy of music therapy sessions for the patient for a defined time period and obtains personal and listening metrics associated with the patient's music therapy sessions for the defined time period. The system correlates the personal and listening metrics with the patient's medical metrics for the defined time period in order to determine the efficacy of music therapy sessions for the patient.

  • Patent number: 10656646
Abstract: An example method includes determining a target area of a ground plane in an environment of a mobile robotic device, where the target area of the ground plane is in front of the mobile robotic device in a direction of travel of the mobile robotic device. The method further includes receiving depth data from a depth sensor on the mobile robotic device. The method also includes identifying a portion of the depth data representative of the target area. The method additionally includes determining that the portion of the depth data lacks information representing at least one section of the target area. The method further includes providing an output signal identifying at least one zone of non-traversable space for the mobile robotic device in the environment, where the at least one zone of non-traversable space corresponds to the at least one section of the target area.

  • Patent number: 10651844
Abstract: An IC chip, a system and a method of operating the IC chip in response to an event trigger are provided. The method includes responsive to the event trigger, coupling a pin to a source of constant current to charge an external capacitor coupled to the pin and monitoring a capacitor voltage on the pin. If the magnitude of the capacitor voltage is greater than a rising threshold, detection of a falling threshold is enabled. If the magnitude of the capacitor voltage is greater than a voltage threshold, a first response is triggered and the pin is coupled to the lower rail to discharge the external capacitor. If detection of the falling threshold is enabled and the magnitude of the capacitor voltage is less than the falling threshold, the first response is also triggered.

  • Patent number: 10595668
Abstract: An apparatus and method for sharing capsule image data and beverage preparation parameters, from one or more beverage preparation machines with a remote computer system via a network, such as the Internet, is disclosed. The remote computer system may process the capsule image data to determine characteristics of the capsule (e.g., a type of capsule, such as a brand, or beverage ingredients in the capsule), thereby relieving the beverage preparation from having to determine information about the capsule. The remote computer may track a user's consumption of capsules, may compare this value to the user's past capsule purchase history, and may determine if the user's supply of capsules is below a threshold value (e.g., below a week's worth of capsules).

  • Patent number: 10565541
Abstract: A method and computer system executes a home loss prevention simulation to provide a user with information on home loss prevention. The method and system may allow the user to select and place one or more home sensors on items and/or in locations within a simulated home environment. Once the user has finished selecting and placing the home sensors in the simulated home, the method and system may begin the home loss prevention simulation by applying different loss-related simulation scenarios to the simulated home. Based the different loss-related scenarios, the method and system may evaluate the placement of the home sensors in the simulated home to determine one or more losses (e.g., fire, water or burglary) and any associated financial costs. At the end of the simulation, the method and system may provide instructional information regarding the simulation results in order to educate the user on how to improve or optimize home loss prevention.
