  • Publication number: 20040175498
Abstract: An MEA preparation method involves low temperature plasma deposition of catalysts such as platinum onto a substrate to form a proton-conducting cation-exchange membrane. The substrate may be a solid polymer electrolyte membrane, or may include carbon cloth or carbon particles. The deposition is carried out at atmospheric pressure without the addition of noble gases to the reactant carrier.
