Abstract: A movement joint includes a first tubular body, a second tubular body, a releasable fastener, and an axial lock. The first tubular body is connected to a tubing disposed in a wellbore, and includes an inner surface defining a first central bore. The second tubular body is disposed within the first central bore, and includes an inner surface defining a second central bore in fluid communication with the first central bore. The releasable fastener is positioned between the inner surface of the first tubular body and the outer surface of the second tubular body, axially connects the second tubular body to the first tubular body, and has a maximum tension threshold that is less than a tensile break strength of the tubing. The axial lock selectively engages the first tubular body and the second tubular body after a release of the releasable fastener.
