Patent number: 12272813Abstract: Electrical energy storage devices made using a wet electrode application technique are associated with high energy consumption. Herein, a dry electrode or electrolyte application process involves mixing active material with a binder and then fibrillating the mixture. During preparation of the mixture, the smallest particles are removed to improve binding. The mixture is roll-pressed into a film, which is then actively cooled. Optionally, tension in the cooled portion of the film is increased for spooling the film. The film is adhered to a pre-treated current collector and then wound into a jelly roll for the manufacture of an electrical energy storage device.Type: GrantFiled: April 27, 2024Date of Patent: April 8, 2025Assignee: Atlas Power Technologies Inc.Inventors: Mitchell Miller, Ali Khosrozadeh, Behzad Gorji Pour Shafiee, Mohsen Sadeghi, Omar Khaled Omar Bin Gah, Sara Abouali, Graham Miles

Patent number: 9831870Abstract: A proximity switch assembly and method for detecting activation of a proximity switch assembly and tuning the assembly. The assembly includes proximity switches each having a proximity sensor providing a sense activation field and control circuitry processing the activation field to sense activation. The method of tuning includes generating an activation field with a proximity sensor, generating a signal in response to the activation field, detecting noise associated with the signal, and adjusting a parameter based on the detected noise, wherein the parameter is used to detect a proximity state such as activation of the proximity switch.Type: GrantFiled: March 27, 2014Date of Patent: November 28, 2017Assignee: Ford Global Technologies, LLCInventors: Pietro Buttolo, Stuart C. Salter, Dipanjan Ghosh, Khaled Omar, James Stewart Rankin, II

Patent number: 9568527Abstract: A proximity switch assembly and method for detecting activation of a proximity switch assembly is provided. The assembly includes a plurality of proximity switches each having a proximity sensor providing a sense activation field and control circuitry processing the activation field of each proximity switch to sense activation. The control circuitry controls the activation field of each proximity switch to sense activation, monitors signals indicative of the activation field, and determines a first stable signal amplitude and a subsequent second signal amplitude, and generates an activation output when the second stable signal amplitude exceeds the first stable amplitude by a known amount.Type: GrantFiled: January 30, 2014Date of Patent: February 14, 2017Assignee: Ford Global Technologies, LLCInventors: Pietro Buttolo, Stuart C. Salter, Dipanjan Ghosh, Khaled Omar, James Stewart Rankin, II

Publication number: 20160227843Abstract: A sock includes: an elongated toe-area to cover at least all phalanges of all toes of a foot of a wearer of the sock; a sole area to cover a sole of the foot; and an ankle area to at least partially cover an ankle of the foot. The elongated toe-area is distinct from other areas of the sock. The elongated toe-area extends backwardly towards the ankle, covering part of the sole of the foot; optionally covering between 25 to 50 percent of the length of the foot. Optionally, the toe-area is a split toe-area having two or more sub-regions. Optionally, the elongated toe-area is a non-symmetrical trapezoid elongated toe-area.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 7, 2016Publication date: August 11, 2016Inventors: Liron BILSKY, Khaled OMAR, Muhammad OMAR

Patent number: 9193301Abstract: A vehicle reading lamp is provided and includes an outer lens and a light source for illuminating an outer lens. A controller is included for prompting the light source to generate a low intensity light to assist a vehicle occupant in visually locating the reading lamp in dark conditions, wherein when the occupant desires task lighting and subsequently activates the light source, the controller prompts the light source to switch from the low intensity light to a high intensity light.Type: GrantFiled: April 21, 2014Date of Patent: November 24, 2015Assignee: Ford Global Technologies, LLCInventors: Stuart C. Salter, James J. Surman, Jeffrey Singer, Matthew Majkowski, Khaled Omar

Publication number: 20150085519Abstract: A light guide system includes a light pipe and a carrier member. An outwardly extending attachment flange is disposed on an outer surface of the carrier member. In assembly, the outwardly extending attachment flange is adapted to provide an attachment feature for securing the light guide system to surrounding commodities. The outwardly extending attachment flange is disposed along a length of the carrier member to ensure uniform access to the outwardly extending attachment flange and uniform securement of the light guide system to a material substrate.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 25, 2013Publication date: March 26, 2015Applicant: Ford Global Technologies, LLCInventors: Ali Ammar, Cornel Lewis Gardner, Khaled Omar, Ben Sohizad, Stuart C.
