Patent number: 12274422Abstract: An apparatus for sanitizing a fiberoptic endoscope includes an elongated box with an interior storage chamber and a cleaning piece connected to the exterior of the box. The cleaning piece and the box are arranged in-line with one another and are configured to receive a flexible endoscopic cable of a fiberoptic endoscope inside of them to sanitize and sterilize the cable. The flexible endoscopic cable is first inserted in the cleaning piece via a through opening of the cleaning piece. The cleaning piece includes a plurality of filtering media in its interior, each with a respective through hole. The flexible endoscopic cable is disinfected as it is moved through the filtering medium through holes. Having passed through the filtering media, the flexible endoscopic cable travels to the interior storage chamber of the box, where it is irradiated by an ultraviolet light source for sterilizing the flexible endoscopic cable.Type: GrantFiled: December 10, 2024Date of Patent: April 15, 2025Assignee: KING SAUD UNIVERSITYInventors: Shahad Hussien Alsafhi, Nora Fahad Alsudairi, Khalid Abdullah Alhussaini

Patent number: 12103865Abstract: A freezing desalination method includes cooling salt water in a first chamber with a conductive interface having a thermoelectric cooler (TEC). The conductive interface separates the first chamber from the second chamber containing fresh water. The method further includes reversing a current supplied to the conductive interface by a power source, when ice forms on the conductive interface, thereby allowing the ice to detach from the conductive interface. The ice formed in the first chamber is moved to the second chamber with a moving mechanism thereby melting the ice in the second chamber.Type: GrantFiled: February 23, 2024Date of Patent: October 1, 2024Assignee: KING SAUD UNIVERSITYInventors: Khalid Abdullah A. Patent number: 10728433Abstract: An assembly allowing a user to adjust a relative positioning of an imaging portal of a lens attached to an electronic device relative to the viewing portal of a lens of an optical device. The assembly is made up of a planar adjustment unit having multiple plates that frictionally interface with one another such that they allow movement by a user. The components of the planar adjustment unit are held together by at least one elastically deformable element that passes through the channels in the sliding plates of the planar adjustment unit. The at least one elastically deformable element holds the planar adjustment unit together in tension such that the assembled plates may still slide with respect to one another, but remain in place by static friction when not moved by a user. The planar adjustment unit may be further combined with components allowing for three-dimensional adjustment of an imaging portal of a lens attached to an electronic device relative to a viewing portal of a lens of an optical device.Type: GrantFiled: April 25, 2019Date of Patent: July 28, 2020Assignee: SKOPE, LLCInventors: Photios Nicholas Kyriazi, Abdulrahman Ahmad F Nashawi, Khalid Abdullah Algashgari
