  • Patent number: 9729755
Abstract: As set forth herein, methods and systems for automated image defect detection. An input image is subjected to skew detection and contaminant detection. Upon detection of skew of and/or contaminants in the image data, correction data, including indicia of the contaminants/skew, correction angles and directions are calculated and displayed on an electronic representation of the document. Automatic correction may then be performed to correct the detected defects, allow the defects to remain, or re-scan the original document to generate new image data without the detected defects.

  • Patent number: 9196179
Abstract: A method and system enables users of a system such as a mass transit system to receive status information about the system. The information may relate to one or more stops or vehicles along various routes of the system. The user is provided with a display device, and one or more readers are positioned throughout the system. The display device includes a display screen that displays system status information, a driving circuit, an antenna and an inductive coil. When the display device's inductive coil is in the presence of a proximate electromagnetic field and the antenna receives a data signal, the inductive coil delivers power to the driving circuit, and the driving circuit causes the display screen to display updated system status information.

  • Publication number: 20130050741
Abstract: An imaging forming system and method are disclosed having a print engine, a signal detector and a communication module for communicating with portable devices and printing documents therefrom. A user intent to print from a portable device is ascertained based on a signal strength of each portable device. The signal strength detected determines when each portable device is within a proximate area of the system. If a portable device is within the proximate area for a predetermined period of time, the system operates to print the document.

  • Publication number: 20120320404
Abstract: Methods and structures respond to activation of a switch (or other similar user input) of a printing apparatus that controls whether a power supply is connected to and supplies power to a processor, a printing engine, and a graphic user interface of the printing apparatus. The graphic user interface comprises a bistable display that continues to show the most recently provided screenshot after the switch disconnects the power supply from the graphic user interface. Further, methods and structures cause, using the processor, the graphic user interface to display status information of the printing apparatus immediately prior to the switch being allowed to disconnect the power supply from the graphic user interface such that the graphic user interface displays the status information after being disconnected from the power supply.

  • Publication number: 20060122576
Abstract: A surgical irrigation system is provided in which a novel system of connecting and/or supporting a pump to a fluid source reduces the possibility that the pump will become disconnected from the fluid source by requiring that the pump be supported by a support to establish fluid connection.
