  • DTMF detection in internet telephony

    Abstract: A method of transmitting DTMF tones over an Internet telephone call includes the step of monitoring an audio signal in a transmitting IP Gateway in order to determine when tone is suspected, and then deleting the audio signal including such tone if tone is confirmed. After the audio signal including the tone is deleted, a digital out of band signal is transmitted including the appropriate tone information.
