Abstract: A media guidance application having a media content search function is implemented on a plurality of user equipment devices. Search-related communications from users are received and analyzed to identify a media content not currently available via the media guidance application. Once a media content has been identified from at least a threshold number of search-related communications, the media content is offered via the media guidance application. An alert or notice may then be sent to users of the media guidance application, and especially those users who requested the media content, to notify them of the availability of the media content.

Abstract: Methods and devices for presenting an interactive media guidance application are provided in accordance with various embodiments. In some embodiments, methods for presenting an interactive media guidance application in a user equipment device are provided, the methods comprising: receiving a video signal; presenting the video signal on a display in a first area and in a first configuration; receiving one or more commands from a user; and, in response to receiving the one or more commands: selecting a second area of the video signal that is less than the first area of the video signal and causing the second area of the video signal to be presented on the display in a larger size than the second area of the video signal when displayed in the first configuration.
