  • Publication number: 20080052974
Abstract: Introduced is a power system chassis identification system. In one embodiment, the system includes: (1) a power system chassis rack holding a plurality of chassis, each housing a rectifier or a converter and (2) a label located on each chassis having symbols thereon identifying the chassis as housing a rectifier or a converter and its voltage input/output, which label is readable at a distance of not less than twenty feet.

  • Patent number: 6671590
Abstract: Methods and systems for reducing noise generated by rotating blades of a tiltrotor aircraft. A rotor-blade pitch angle associated with the tiltrotor aircraft can be controlled utilizing a swashplate connected to rotating blades of the tiltrotor aircraft. One or more Higher Harmonic Control (HHC) signals can be transmitted and input to a swashplate control actuator associated with the swashplate. A particular blade pitch oscillation (e.g., four cycles per revolution) is thereafter produced in a rotating frame of reference associated with the rotating blades in response to input of an HHC signal to the swashplate control actuator associated with the swashplate to thereby reduce noise associated with the rotating blades of the tiltrotor aircraft. The HHC signal can be transmitted and input to the swashplate control actuator to reduce noise of the tiltrotor aircraft in response to a user input utilizing an open-loop configuration.

  • Publication number: 20030059049
Abstract: A system for securing and authenticating wireless transactions. The method includes hard cooing a public key into a non-reprogramable ROM 114 through a first path 130 of a wireless communication device 116. An object to be stored on the wireless device is first signed by a private or secret key 104, which corresponds to the public key 104, to create a certificate 120. The certificate 120 is then bound to the object and both are subsequently sent to the wireless device 116 though a second path 132, which is different from the first path 130. A certified program segment 119 is also stored on the wireless device and is executed upon the boot up process of the device. During the boot process of the device, the certified program segment 119 is authenticated, and if authentic, it is executed.

  • Patent number: 6097309
Abstract: A system and method for utilizing receiver signal reconstruction characteristics, in combination with a knowledge of code formats being used, to enable a remote control device to learn the coding format of devices operating at high carrier frequencies even though the carrier frequencies cannot be directly measured.

  • Patent number: 5282948
Abstract: A rugged O.sub.2 microsensor constructed from Si, and Pt, Si.sub.3 N.sub.4 and ZrO.sub.2 thin films which is free standing and isolated from the silicon substrate in combination with a counter electrode and a heater in a bow-tie configuration. The sensor combines an integral heater made from platinum which is deposited on a silicon wafer as a thin film. The thin film heater heats a small yttria-stabilized zirconia sensor that sends a signal proportional to the amount of oxygen in the ambient environment through a counter electrode. The sensor and heater are supported on the silicon wafer by a thin layer of silicon nitride.
