A described technique includes receiving a computer-aided design document for import to a space management program; determining whether the computer-aided design document violates a rule set, wherein the rule set is configured to detect issues that inhibit importation of data from the computer-aided design document to the space management program; selectively modifying the computer-aided design document by resolving a violation of the rule set; and providing the modified computer-aided design document to the space management program.

Based on the comparison, the first data is updated using the second data, the second data is updated using the first data, or the first data is updated using the second data and the second data is updated using the first data. A geospatial representation is generated using at least one of the updated second data or the updated first data.

The technique includes scaling, based on the boundary layer, one or more of the layers to have a size that is within a threshold distance of the boundary layer's size, and after scaling, aligning the visual layer and the interactive layer in a merged graphics layer so that the interactive layer can detect user interaction with a corresponding portion of the visual layer.
