Patent number: 12573982Abstract: Apparatus and associated methods relate to a photonic transmission system. In an illustrative example, a photonic transmission system may include a network of Photonic Energy Transmission and Communication System (PETACS). The PETACS, for example, may include a concentrator to receive solar energy to power various photonic loads. The concentrator may, for example, be configured to track an incoming light beam to a photovoltaic cell. For example, the PETACS may include a polarizing beam multiplexing system (PBMS). The PBMS may, for example, split a received light beam into multiple beams based on predetermined ranges of wavelengths. The PBMS may then power various photonic loads independently and simultaneously corresponding to a range of wavelengths. For example, the PETACS may transmit excess photonic energy and/or data to a remote PETACS using a steerable beam transceiver unit. Various embodiments may advantageously improve utilization of photonic energy and increase generation efficiency from solar energy.Type: GrantFiled: August 4, 2023Date of Patent: March 10, 2026Assignee: FOXBAT SYSTEMS, LLCInventor: Khoa Vu

Patent number: 11596414Abstract: An occlusive device for occluding a target area can include an elongate member having opposing first and second side edges extending longitudinally along the member and a member width. The member can have a collapsed configuration in which the first and second side edges are curled toward each other about a longitudinal axis of the member. Further the member can have an expanded configuration in which the member form a series of loops and the first and second side edges uncurl to be spaced apart from each other.Type: GrantFiled: August 28, 2019Date of Patent: March 7, 2023Assignee: COVIDIEN LPInventors: Vincent Divino, Richard Rhee, Earl Bardsley, Julie Kulak, Madhur Kadam, Ramon Carrillo, Kokou A. Patent number: 10862358Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure provide a magnetically geared DC brushless motor and method of using the same. The motor may use multiple separately terminable winding sections wrapped around motor armatures. At least one of the separately terminable winding sections may have windings around adjacent armatures. The motor may be configured to activate certain winding sections to control the velocity and torque outputs of the motor. The winding sections may include copper wire, and the separate winding sections may have wires of different gauge sizes. Various winding sections may be powered by separate voltage sources. Various winding sections may be powered by separate pulse-width modulation voltage sources. The motor may be configured to increase and/or decrease the voltage of a winding section or combination of sections to prepare for the activation or deactivation of another winding section or combination of winding sections.Type: GrantFiled: January 18, 2018Date of Patent: December 8, 2020Inventor: Khoa Vu
