  • Publication number: 20170042714
Abstract: A buoyant, expandable intragastric device is provided that can be inserted into the stomach of a patient. The device is inflated, or expanded, with gas or other low density material to partially fill the stomach and enabling the device, or implant, to be buoyant within the stomach by floating toward the highest location possible relative to the contents of the stomach and the configuration of the stomach walls. The implant moves around as the body changes orientation or as the stomach contents change. Therefore, continual impingement on the same tissues of the gastrointestinal tract is minimized. The implant, being buoyant and floating to the top of the stomach, can beneficially generate increased pressure on, or stretching of, the tissues at the top of the stomach and the vagal nerves causing signals to the brain indicating that the stomach is full.

  • Patent number: 8255692
Abstract: Field devices used to measure process parameters can also function as a data historian by storing process data and associated time stamps. In response to a request for stored process data, the field device uses a cipher and a secret method to generate an encrypted validation string that is provided along with unencrypted information including the process data and time stamps. A validation service that maintains a secure database of field devices and their associated ciphers and secret methods can validate the unencrypted information by using the validation string.

Date of Patent: August 28, 2012
    Assignee: Rosemount Inc.

  • Patent number: 6666665
Abstract: The present invention provides an infusion pump 10 for providing a flow of a liquid through an tube 28. The infusion pump 10 includes at least two occluders 152, 162 having an open position and a closed position for releasably pinching-off the tube 28. A metering chamber is disposed between the two occluders 152, 162. A first plunger 72 and a second plunger 73 are provided, each plunger 72, 73 having an open position and a closed position for releasably compressing the metering chamber. In the method of the present invention, an occluder 152 releasably pinches-off the tube near the source of the liquid at a first location. The second occluder 162 releasably pinches-off the tube at a second location that is downstream from the source of the liquid 23 and the first location.
