  • Publication number: 20070244495
Abstract: Methods and devices for creating vascular anastomoses are disclosed. In a preferred embodiment, a vein is tissue welded to an artery at a desired anastomosis site. A laser is then used to vaporize tissue within the anastomosis site to form an access pathway between the vein and artery. Single-fiber or multi-fiber lasers devices may be used, and are preferably configured to emit the laser light at an angle from the longitudinal axis of the laser device to permit intravascular access to the anastomosis site. The tissue welding may be performed using a mussel or frog-derived bioglue.
