  • Publication number: 20080085039
Abstract: Provided is a fingerprint matching method and apparatus using fingerprint minutiae and fingerprint binary images. The method includes: constructing a template fingerprint database by extracting minutiae information and a binary image of a first fingerprint image; and extracting minutiae information and a binary image of a second fingerprint image to be authenticated and performing authentication by aligning the extracted minutiae information and the binary image of the second fingerprint image with data in the template fingerprint database. Accordingly, the fingerprint matching using the fingerprint binary images is additionally performed, thereby reducing a false acceptance rate (FAR) compared to a conventional minutia-based fingerprint authentication method.

  • Publication number: 20080013804
Abstract: Provided is a method and apparatus for authenticating a fingerprint by hiding minutiae, securely storing information on the fingerprint, and authenticating the information on the fingerprint in order to prevent the information on the fingerprint from being reused by an attacker who accesses the information on the fingerprint that is stored in a storage unit. The method for recognizing fingerprint by hiding minutiae of a fingerprint adds fake minutiae information to genuine minutiae information, hides fingerprint information using a polynomial, which is generated based on personal intrinsic information, and stores the fingerprint information, thereby securely protecting the fingerprint information from an external attacker, and preventing the fingerprint information accessed by the attacker from being reused since the attacker cannot know the genuine minutiae.

  • Publication number: 20070124313
Abstract: Provided are a method and apparatus for securely distributing digital content. According to the method and apparatus, content is securely transmitted to users who have a right of use content regardless of the reliability of a content distributor, thereby allowing the users to efficiently use content. For example, even if an unauthorized third party changes a list of content users by deleting a user who has a right to use content from the list or adding a user who has no right to use content to the list, such an unauthorized change can be easily detected in real time, thereby securely protecting the list. Accordingly, it is possible to securely distribute and use digital content regardless of a content distributor.

  • Publication number: 20060126848
Abstract: Provided are a key authentication/service system and method using one-time authentication code. In the system and method, a key management client sends a key management server a message requesting transmission of a message for generating authentication code required to request a key management service. Next, the key management server creates a challenge message based on a challenge/response method using the received message. Next, the key management client generates the one-time authentication code using the challenge message and transmits it along with a message requesting a key management service to the key management server. Next, the key management server receives the one-time authentication code from the key management client and checks whether the one-time authentication code is certified to determine whether the key management client has a right to use the key management service.

  • Publication number: 20060019531
Abstract: An electrical connection structure, and a secondary battery pack using the same are disclosed. The structure comprises an electrical connection member which includes an insulating body for insulating a PCM from a battery cell, and cathode and anode leads mounted on the insulating body in a state of being electrically insulated from each other. One or both of the cathode and anode leads are welded to associated electrode terminals of the battery cell. The cathode and anode leads are connected in a contact state to associated electrode taps of the PCM when engaging the PCM to the battery cell. The connection structure allows only the electrode leads to be welded to the battery cell, and allows the electrode terminals to be connected to the electrode taps through contact without an additional welding operation, thereby remarkably reducing the number of assembling steps, lowering manufacturing costs and preventing malfunction.
