  • Patent number: 8259622
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a system and method for providing a packet network-based MRBT service. In the method, when an originating MSC (110) requests call termination location information from an HLR (120), the HLR transmits an MRBT service request message, including a calling number and a called number, to an MRBT server (140). The MRBT server returns an MRBT service response message, including URL of MRBT content, to the HLR. The HLR transmits a call termination location information response message to the originating MSC, with MRBT service ID information and called party MRBT content URL information included in the call termination location information response message. The originating MSC (110) transmits called party MRBT content URL information to an originating MS (100) on a basis of the MRBT service ID information. The originating MS accesses the MRBT content URL, downloads relevant MRBT content, and plays and stores the MRBT content.

  • Patent number: 7809800
Abstract: The present invention presents a method for providing the location information of a mobile station(MS) by selectively using a DBM-based method and a TCP/IP-based method on a global positioning system(GPS) in a mobile telecommunication network constituted of a client server, a mobile positioning center(MPC), a home location register(HLR), and a position determination Entity(PDE). By selectively using a DBM-based method or a TCP/IP-based method according to the type of requested service, the present invention enables to reduce the time required for obtaining the accurate location. Moreover, it can provide the requested location based service(LBS) on an MS even when the MS is on-line or on stand-by mode.

  • Patent number: 7809362
Abstract: The present invention relates to method and apparatus for providing an arbitrary sound chosen by a called subscriber instead of ringback tone to a calling subscriber. In this present invention, if a call is received, a terminating exchanger requests a trunk connection to a sound db server based on the first information on whether or not to replace a ringback tone and the second information on a route to the sound db server that are received from a home location register (HLR), and provides a called subscriber identification for the sound server. Then, the sound db server searches its db for a sound specified by the called, and provides the found sound for the caller instead of a conventional ringback tone via the terminating exchanger connected through a trunk. Through this sequential procedure of network elements, a caller can hear a sound specified by a called instead of a dry ringback tone.

  • Patent number: 7769377
Abstract: The present invention relates to method for providing an arbitrary sound chosen by a called subscriber instead of an ordinary tone to a calling or call-waiting subscriber. In this present invention, if a call is received, a terminating exchanger requests a trunk connection to a sound db server based on the first information on whether or not to replace an ordinary tone and the second information on a route to the sound db server that were received from a home location register (HLR) when a called was registered, and provides the called identification and call state (idle/busy or call-waiting, etc.) for the sound server. Then, the sound db server searches its db for a sound associated with the call state specified by the called, and provides the found sound for the caller instead of a conventional tone via the terminating exchanger. Through this sequential procedure of network elements, a caller can hear a sound specified by a called instead of a dry ordinary tone.
