    Abstract: An actual subject and a computed three-dimensional (3D) model of the subject are compared by a computing platform. Captured geometry of the actual subject, and a 3D model of the subject are accessed. A first comparison result representing a difference between coarse representations of the captured geometry and of the 3D model is computed. Target portions of the first comparison result that exceed a threshold are determined. A second comparison result representing a difference between fine representations of the captured geometry and the 3D model is computed for only those portions of the captured geometry and the 3D model that correspond to the target portions.
