  • Publication number: 20050051710
Abstract: A light signal receiving apparatus receives a light signal transmitted from a light signal transmitting apparatus disposed in a household room, and supplies video and audio information to a video equipment, and an audio equipment including an amplifier and a speaker. The light signal receiving apparatus includes an optical system condensing the light signal on a light-receiving element with a condensing lens. The light-receiving element is disposed nearer the condensing lens in relation to a focusing point of the condensing lens, and the condensing lens includes a non-spherical surface shape strongly distributing, on the light-receiving element, an intensity distribution on a light-receiving element disposed plane of an incident light obliquely incident with respect to an optical axis of the condensing lens within a range of predetermined angles. Thereby, the light signal incident on the condensing lens within a large range can be received at a predetermined light receiving intensity.

  • Patent number: 5546220
Abstract: An optical wavelength converter includes an optical wavelength converting element having a multimode waveguide of a core of a nonlinear optical material with a high temperature dependency or temperature coefficient of an index difference for the fundamental wave and secondary harmonic and a clad surrounding the multimode waveguide for converting a wavelength of a fundamental wave entering the multimode waveguide to a 1/2 wavelength of a secondary harmonic; and a temperature tuning device for changing a temperature of the clad and the multimode waveguide within a predetermined temperature range to maintain a phase matching temperature of the fundamental wave and the secondary harmonic in the optical wavelength converting element. The temperature tuner changes the temperature coefficient so as to select a pertinent pair of the fundamental wave and secondary harmonic modes for a wavelength conversion.
