  • Patent number: 5917876
Abstract: A computed tomography scanner for obtaining a tomographic image of a subject to be examined including a radiation emitting device for emitting radiation in a shape of a fan beam to the subject, a radiation detecting device for detecting the radiation that has passed through the subject to obtain detection data with respect to a tomographic plane of the subject. The radiation emitting device and the radiation detecting device determines a scanning area constituting a data collection region in a radiation plane of the fan beam. The subject has external dimensions exceeding the scanning area.

  • Patent number: 5594768
Abstract: A laminograph including, a radiation source for generating radiation towards a subject, a radiation surface sensor device with a two-dimensional resolution, fitted opposite to the radiation source for detecting the radiation from the radiation source which has passed through the subject, a scanning device for moving the subject to take a plurality of different positions between the radiation source and the radiation surface sensor device and for scanning the subject in each of the different positions by the radiation from the radiation source.

  • Patent number: 5260981
Abstract: A device for inspecting an article, in which a radiation source irradiates a plane-shaped radiation to an article in order to inspect the content of the article without destroying it. Scattered radiation from the article is applied to a radiation detector through a slit which is formed coincident with a line passing through a focus of the radiation source and which continuously passes a constant full field of scattered radiation. The radiation detector is disposed in parallel with the slit and scattered radiation detected by the radiation detector is displayed as an image of the region of the article which was irradiated by the plane-shaped radiation.

  • Patent number: 5027378
Abstract: An industrial CT apparatus capable of obtaining a good image quality by a simple configuration. The apparatus is the second generating type incorporating the rotational motions as well as the traverse motions, in which the detector is positioned nearby a center of rotation of the object to be examined. When the object to be examined is a ring shaped object, the detector is positioned inside the center bore of the object. Also, the X-ray is emitted in a form of fan shaped beam whose symmetrical axis is deviated from an axial direction perpendicular to the traverse direction.

  • Patent number: 4907157
Abstract: A tomographic apparatus includes a movable radiation generating system and a movable radiation sensing system which may be placed independently of the location of the radiation generating system. The locus of movement of a radiation generating point is adjusted to be parallel to the arrangement of the radiation sensing system. The distance between the generating and sensing systems is obtained by a prescribed calculation. The CT scanning starts after initializing the radiation generating/sensing systems. Then, projecting data of the inspection object is obtained. Thereafter, image reconstruction processing is performed onto the obtained projection data in accordance with a sequential approximation method, so that a tomographic image of the object is produced.
