  • Patent number: 4884762
Abstract: A bail arm turning mechanism in a spinning reel is disclosed. The spinning reel has first and second ears for pivotally supporting a bail arm lever and bail arm cam, respectively, to which each end of the bail arm is connected. A manual operation lever is pivotally supported to the first ear, and a rotational lever is provided in the first ear. The rotational lever has front, intermediate and rear portion. The front portion is engageable with the bail arm lever, and the rear portion is abuttable to the manual operation lever. Upon manipulation of the manual operation lever, the rear portion of the rotational lever is pivotally moved about an axis of the intermediate portion, so that the front portion pivots, to thereby rotate the bail arm lever, to thus provide bail arm turning.

  • Patent number: 4512531
Abstract: In a fishing spinning reel, a traverse-cam cylinder is relatively rotatably mounted on an anti-reverse shaft which is arranged inside a reel body in parallel with a spool shaft. An oscillator secured to the spool shaft engages the traverse-cam cylinder so as to reciprocate the spool shaft upon rotation of the traverse-cam cylinder. The traverse-cam cylinder is rotated by one of dual face gears formed on a master gear while the other one of dual face gears rotates a rotor shaft.

  • Patent number: 4509704
Abstract: A closed-face type reel has a fishing line latching and releasing mechanism comprising a line pickup member radially movably mounted on a rotor and having a pickup pin movable out of and retractable into a hole defined in a peripheral wall of the rotor for latching and releasing a fishing line to wind up and reel out the same, respectively. The pickup member also includes a tongue engageable with a sleeve mounted on a rotatable and axially movable shaft and normally urged into engagement with the sleeve under the force of a spring acting between the pickup member and the peripheral wall. When the tongue engages the sleeve, the pickup pin projects out of the hole to latch the fishing line. When the tongue disengages from the sleeve, the pickup pin is retracted into the hole to release the fishing line. The pickup member further includes a back portion and a locking portion slidably and removably fitted respectively in a guide hole and a guide slot defined in a sidewall of the rotor.

  • Patent number: 4484720
Abstract: In a drag mechanism of a fishing spinning reel of the type wherein a rotor is permitted to slip rotate, there is provided a ratchet wheel, a pawl operating cam rotatable a predetermined angle relative to the ratchet wheel, and a plurality of pawls operated by the pawl operating cam. The pawls are caused to engage or disengage the ratchet wheel by forward or reverse rotation of a handle.
