  • Patent number: 7886336
Abstract: A method for initiating a security procedure within a building whereby a virtual key is generated by a certain event and transmitted to a selected person. If the selected person identifies himself by means of the virtual key, a security procedure, for example making an elevator available, is initiated within the building.

  • Patent number: 7665581
Abstract: The method serves for automatic checking of the availability of technical equipment which is arranged in or at a building and executes at least one repeatable procedure, and comprises the following steps. There is determined at least one estimated value (NS(i,t)) for the frequency of the performance of the procedure for a first time period and/or second estimated value (NS(i,t+?t)) for the frequency of the performance of the procedure for a second time period. A measured value Nm(i,t)) for the frequency of the performance of the procedure for the first time period is determined and the measured value is compared with at least one of the estimated values (NS(i,t), NS(i,t+?t)).

  • Patent number: 7319966
Abstract: A method of communicating information to elevator users utilizes a building server to store elevator user personal information profiles and information to be communicated. When an elevator user is identified, the building server communicates a portion of the stored information based upon the associated profile. The building server functions as a data manager and is connected to various different sources of data to collect the information to be communicated. The data sources can include videos, movies, the Internet, the elevator control, the building control center, etc. An identification unit controls access by the elevator users. The elevator user is able to receive the communicated information on a display unit in the vicinity of or in the elevator car.

  • Patent number: 7182174
Abstract: A method and a system for emergency evacuation of building occupants and to a method for modernization of an existing building with the evacuation system. The system is used in a multi-story building having a plurality of floors and with at least one elevator positionable at selected landings of the floors. A first device is provided for measuring the number of persons in the building and a second device is provided for detecting an emergency condition in the building. At least one control unit is provided for determining or for estimating a number of building occupants in the building. The control unit defines at least one evacuation zone in the building during the emergency condition. Based on this information, the control unit defines at least one designated floor in the building during the emergency condition. Then the system evacuates the building occupants with the elevator car and/or a stairway from the evacuation zone to the designated floor.

  • Patent number: 6868945
Abstract: The invention relates to the equipping of an elevator (1, 2) with hardware in order to control the same. This hardware is provided in the form of a customary radio telephone (3) which serves as a unit for controlling the elevator. The radio telephone (3), also designated as mobile, comprises a keypad (4) provided as a data entry unit, and comprises a display element (5), also named display, which is provided as a data output unit. The mobile (3) can wirelessly communicate with a mobile radio telephone network (6), whereby speech and/or data can be transmitted. The mobile radio telephone network (6) can contact other mobiles or a terminal (7) in order to transmit speech and/or data. The terminal (7) is comprised of a computer system, designated as server (8), which has access to a memory (9) containing elevator-specific and/or general information. The server (8) is also connected to the elevator system (1, 2) via an interface (10).

  • Patent number: 6801792
Abstract: A method for communication with a transportation system utilizes a human-machine interface with a control unit that constantly checks for the presence of contactlessly communicating information carriers. If a user with an information carrier is located in the reception range, the control unit requires the information carrier to transfer at least identification data of the user to the control unit. The control unit then displays an individualized communication surface matched to the respective user on the basis of the received data.

  • Patent number: 6793044
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for determining the optimal travel sequence for an elevator installation includes smart terminals sending destination specific travel requests and other planning information to a job manager for each elevator car. The job managers perform a situation-based search process to determine the optimal travel sequence plan for the associated elevator and submit an offer to the terminal sending the travel request. The terminal compares offers and books a selected one. The job managers are responsive to relevant changes in the situation upon which the plan is based for determining a changed actual travel sequence and associated changed offer.

  • Patent number: 6425460
Abstract: An elevator user creates on a user terminal an individual user program, that is adapted to his needs, for operating the elevator. The user terminal can include a keypad for selecting commands and entering values, and a screen for displaying the command sequence. Depending upon authorization, the user can access the entire command set or only certain commands. The user program is transmitted to a terminal of an elevator control by wireless communication and proceeds to a program control which adds to the user program data required for execution and stores it in a memory. A task manager of the control program initiates the execution of the user program by an interpreter that interprets the program step by step. In the case of elevator-specific instructions such as, for example, travel commands or door opening commands, the interpreter calls up an interface that initiates the further execution by an elevator control.

  • Patent number: 6412604
Abstract: A vehicle of a transportation system is moved by a drive supplied with electrical energy from an energy store. For the purpose of loading the energy store at a stop, a supply unit is provided, by which energy from a stationary energy supply, for example the public power supply or a solar generator, is transferred wirelessly to the energy store. A modulator raises the frequency of the energy to a higher level. The energy is transferred from the primary winding of a coupling transformer across an air gap to a secondary winding. The primary winding is stationary and the secondary winding is located on the vehicle. The energy, whose frequency is set at a high level to improve the energy density, is delivered to a demodulator on the vehicle side which, under the control of a controller, converts the energy into a form suitable for charging the energy store.

  • Patent number: 6394231
Abstract: A transport system with several autonomous vehicles includes a terminal for a user to input his travel destination. The boarding location and the allocated vehicle are selected for serving the travel request and this information is communicated to the user as an allocated symbol on a display of the terminal. The user can then go to the indicated boarding location. As vehicles arrive at the boarding location, each is indicated on another display by a flashing symbol associated with that vehicle. Thus, the user knows to board only when the flashing symbol corresponds to his allocated symbol.
