    Abstract: The invention relates to providing a computer based learning environment for a user wherein the user defines the content to be studied. The learning tool allows students to store and arrange located information in respect of a study topic, the material being in many different formats and from many sources, explore that located information, reinforce the material by testing their comprehension and understanding, allowing them to enquire further by expanding the information themselves or by collaboratively acquiring additional information/testing. The information/content to be studied by the user is established as a series of questions with answer, the format and content of each being determined by the user. In studying the invention allows the stored information to be displayed for a particular topic, whereas in testing the invention includes the further step of the user determining whether their answer to the question was correct.
