  • Patent number: 6959543
Abstract: An exhaust gas manifold of an exhaust system for an internal combustion engine includes a diverging pipe elbow and exhaust pipes. Each exhaust pipe has an end and is connected to the diverging pipe elbow. The ends of the exhaust pipes extend substantially unidirectionally into the pipe elbow. The sections of the exhaust pipes adjacent to the ends are joined and together form a circular cross section. The portions of the exhaust pipes adjacent to the joined sections are separated from each other with a gap.

Date of Patent: November 1, 2005
    Assignee: Ing. h.c.F. Porsche AG

  • Patent number: 4872624
Abstract: A drive arrangement for an aircraft with a propeller, especially a thrust propeller arranged in the rear fuselage of an aircraft frame which is connected with a drive unit. The drive unit is connected with a longitudinally installed tubular support member supportingly receiving a central shaft. The tubular support member as well as the drive unit are supported on the side of the fuselage by way of at least three elastic bearing supports. One bearing support is provided at the aircraft rear end of the tubular support member and the two other bearing supports are provided within the area of the drive unit.

  • Patent number: 4690238
Abstract: A four-wheel drive arrangement for vehicles having a transversely mounted engine includes an angular drive arrangement which incorporates several design features to reduce undesirable movement of the arrangement and resulting noise inside the vehicle. These features include support of the angular drive gear assembly at a point other than where it is fastened to a transmission/differential combination (e.g., by a bracket fastened to the engine), formation of the clutch and differential gear housing as an integral unit, resonance decoupling of a cardan shaft arrangement driven by the angular drive gear, and design of the angular drive gear assembly housing so as to reduce the length of the output shaft and associated bearing support. Specific arrangements for supporting the angular drive gear assembly and sections of the cardan shaft arrangement are also disclosed, as are specific features of the unitary housing which contributes to the overall reduction of inside noise levels.
